  1. As clever as the Tusk necklace is, it’s not going to be visible on the hockey team’s socks. Those will definitely be covered up by the breezers.
  2. They also had better uniform selections... NHL 2K5 was part of the reason that I got into uniforms and logos
  3. I think it looks great on the orange home jersey, because it mimics the 70’s when they had to add a nameplate to the jersey. So they just borrowed the plates from the home white jersey and slapped it on the orange, creating the contrasting effect. But the current white jersey with the black nameplate is just stupid... And it doesn’t look as good as black lettering on a white plate would.
  4. I’m probably biased but I agree. I mean if it was named after a city, like St. Paul where they play, it would be really weird. However, Minnesota has vast amounts of wilderness, so it really does work. The branding is also fantastic, which really helps!
  5. It looks like they’re the Motorola Pacers rather than the Indiana Pacers on that jersey...
  6. The only team that I can think of where the side panels have looked good, is the Milwaukee Admiral’s current jerseys. Because they’re more integrated into the design, and with striping on the front and back. But it would look way better and be more traditional, if they had proper hem stripes, rather than the side panels. I don’t mind the ones on the Broncos, but the biggest problem with side panels, is that the arms tend to cover that area, making it particularly pointless...
  7. The current road jersey does look half-baked, I’ll give you that... It needs more blue, and it should have matched the original better. The rounded numbers are actually a pretty decent update to the branding, however. The new home is also one of the top 10 in the league with its simplicity and better pattern than the original. The Reebok version is an absolute mess. There’s simply no reason a hockey jersey should have side panels. And the color of the striping is as an apron piping on the front, rather than all around the jersey like before. The rest of the elements on the jersey just carried over, because then those were the only uniquely Avalanche elements. The Reebok jerseys could have been for anyone, and it wouldn’t felt out of place, unlike the mountain pattern of the original and current jerseys.
  8. But they would move to Quebec, from Miami. They’re already in the east, and already in the Atlantic division. So they essentially would only be changing team locations, and there wouldn’t be a need to change any of the divisions. Seattle just balances out the conferences.
  9. @SFGiants58 I agree about Arizona. It gets a little cluttered up by the color scheme... The star should definitely be white. My top 5 are 1. New Mexico- It’s simple and meaningful. Beautiful. 2. South Carolina- A little bit of a bias after spending a lot of time here, but I love that a simple design can still reflect nature so realistically. 3. Alaska- A clever design for the northern-most state. 4. Colorado- Just aesthetically pleasing, and if course, the C makes sense lol. 5. Ohio- Just fun and unique, and also a lot better than other states in the Union. Others would definitely include Arizona, Tennessee, Maryland, California, and even Arkansas. I know it breaks good rules, with it saying Arkansas, but I think it’s just a nice looking flag all around.
  10. I like the top left flag. I really enjoy that American shield and star above. The water shape for the Mississippi is also clever. It does break the rules of no text on the flag, but I don’t mind it actually...
  11. I agree, but the biggest issue is the limited options for striping and design. I don’t mind the pentagon, but it can lead to some weird looks, like the Blackhawks first version. They also end up leading to teams doing the toilet bowl collars...
  12. Well I mean the Penguins wear black at home, and like the Penguins having a brighter yellow to off-set, if the Islanders went to a bright shade of orange, it would contrast really well with the navy. And the current design would be a better look too, with the extra white. Unfortunately the Oilers are already back to navy and orange... The Islanders also are a few tweaks away from having one of the best home looks in the NHL. That stupid toilet bowl plus orange pentagon on the collar is trash. A full collar would look much better. And the stripes need to be more consistent from the hips down. The breezers stripes don’t match anything, and the home socks are a recolored mismatch from the navy Edge set... They need to fix those. Match them to the roads, or have them match the jerseys like the Sound Tigers do.
  13. Well unlike football, hockey teams often only have a single pair of pants, pretty much any color other than white, and the socks generally match the color of the jersey. So even if those match, it really isn’t considered monochrome or a bad look. The Detroit Red Wings have all red at home, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are all blue at home. It’s not a big deal. For the dark green alt of the pandas, I would actually switch the colors of the socks and the pants, making the pants the dark green, and the socks the lighter to match the sleeves. But then the white road jersey should have white socks. It looks like a rec league to have colored socks with a white jersey...
  14. All of your hockey concepts need socks to finish them off... Which can be a pretty big part of the whole color balance and look of the designs.
  15. Maybe you should pick a new team with a better color scheme... The Canucks are blue! You could pick the Canucks! They'll always have a blue and white match up, which sounds less boring than black and white. But they also might wear black or yellow or navy at home! You never know what throwbacks they could wear! That sounds better than the boring black vs. white match-ups all the time...
  16. I don’t know if showing your colors is a show of strength on the road... If anything it looks better at home. It is definitely preference, but I do prefer darks at home, because then the home team gets to wear their dominant colors at home. And just because the dominant colors makes it always black vs white or whatever colors vs white doesn’t mean there is a lack of color. There are some pretty great road jerseys out there in the league. And if it’s still boring, teams can wear an alternate... Like the Pens gold sweaters.
  17. Except it’s not straight one color vs another. It would be Penguins vs. Flyers Black and gold and white vs. white and orange and black Each jersey has lots of designs. Besides the color at home brings a lot of classic designs back to the home fans. The Habs, Rangers, even the Blackhawks all have superior dark jerseys. The Habs especially have a classic design that should be worn at home. Home teams should be wearing the color that most people are gonna be decked out in. And that’s not gonna be white... The only exception there is the Jets with their white out. (Or I guess the Coyotes white outs, but that’s not as comparable.) The Jets should wear white at home during the playoffs...
  18. I always thought the Calgary Flames did the 2 over 3 outlines nicely. At a distance the yellow is minimal on the numbers so not having it on the NOB isn’t a big deal. Also the Bruins has that on their road jerseys in the Reebok era, because it was hard to read as a triple layer NOB. Otherwise yes... That is all correct.
  19. I saw these posted to facebook the other day on a jersey selling group. I thought this was really interesting direction that the Oilers were looking to go. Clearly the Orange base was the plan for a while, even before navy came into the mix. These do look legit, but I'm not 100% sure... (The other images are in a spoiler, because they're huge...)
  20. As far as I can tell, SBC stands for Spaceball Cadet. And the logo seems to prove it...
  21. The orange jersey would need cream numbers with a brown outline. That would fix the visibility problem. And all sets should have socks that match the sleeve stripes. These are fantastic otherwise!!!
  22. The more I look at the Titans new helmet, the more I like it. The silver and white stripe is pretty sharp (no pun intended). But the uniforms are hot garbage. The shoulder yoke of silver and grey isn’t terrible on the home, but it’s awful on the road. And the other elements are pretty much trash. The pants stripes are a joke...
  23. I’m more than prepared to lose every game that might matter at any point. Plus sports aren’t as big a part of my life as when I first got into them. Which is probably a good thing
