  1. That's nothing at all like the "reverse retro" concept.
  2. Yeah that's really nice. I wouldn't mind seeing it with gold (tan) stripes on the sleeves of both jerseys just to tie everything together.
  3. Per the release notes for that update, it's only compatible with boards that are configured for 2,500 or fewer ads per page, so a few dozen need to be cut out before it gets applied.
  4. Gold helmets and white pants is not a good look. I dig the jerseys though - especially the red version.
  5. What's the difference between The Citadel, VMI, et al, and the actual academies?
  6. What the hell was that? Even the initial sound didn't sound like a goal horn, but like some kind of feedback or electromagnetic sound like when you're plugging something into an amp but don't push it in all the way.
  7. Why is Burrow switching from number 9 to number g?
  8. Those socks look better and better every time they're posted.
  9. Didn't realize that. Wrapping is a thing though, right? Even if not in this case.
  10. if they were going to do a wrap then the one-helmet rule shouldn't have mattered. I imagine the wraps are no longer allowed, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a safety thing, like maybe the friction is different and helmets don't slide off each other when one or both are wrapped.
  11. Seattle already tried that back when they changed to the "pacific blue" (or "slate blue") helmet back in 2002 and were told they could only have one.
  12. Helmets are basically logos. Other than for throwbacks, there should not be alternate helmets. It already looks like high school or college with the extra-long slob shirts that the idiots wear and the biker shorts and non-matching socks.
  13. If you're upset about Brady's reasoning for wanting #7, you're just predisposed to disliking Tom Brady. Everyone has their reasons for wanting a certain number, and I'm sure a lot of them have to do with personal reasons rather than something for a team. I'm not sure how anyone's reasoning for any number could be "douchey", unless it's something like "I want 14, because it's my goal to bang 14 girls at a time", or "I want 4, because I'm trying to get my 4th STD". He became a mercenary, and went to the Bucs specifically to (get out of New England, but also) win his next SB. He's not part of the fabric of the franchise or community, and I don't think anyone in the team or fanbase thinks of him as a "Tampa guy". Everyone knows the deal with him.
  14. For purposes of this discussion, I think it's fair to say the Packers and Chiefs haven't changed their "basic look" for a long time. The OP counted the Steelers as a "traditional team that won't ever change", even though they changed their numbers (pretty dramatically) 20ish years ago. Now if you want to count the Packers stupidly adding the G to their sleeves as a big change, then OK, but IMO it didn't change their look. I think we're talking about full redesigns, like the Broncos going from orange crush to high-school side paneled trash, the Falcons going from Deion to the nascar-numbered set with all the piping, or the Eagles going from kelly green/silver to midnight green/black.
  15. Technically they changed their logo, but I wouldn't count that. If they've essentially never changed, then should they be put in the category as the Packers, Chiefs, et al? They haven't changed until they have.
  16. Depending on how technical you want to be, the Eagles are either 1996 or 2003.
  17. I hope they don't introduce an orange jersey. They have enough potential combos due to them having 3 pants, so new combos aren't needed. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but my preferred combos for them are brown over orange, and white over brown.
  18. Those are also teams that have no other trademarked emblem on their jerseys, so the logo patches make it so they can take action against jabronis that are selling knockoffs. Without the patches, it would be much more difficult to go after people selling plain white jerseys with black numbers to Jaguars fans.
  19. They could do a powdered-wig effect on their helmets and be the Washington's. Or, if that's too controversial due to his status as a slave owner, do the same thing but go with Washington Markie's.
  20. The unused prototype thread is locked? If so that's dumb. EDIT: Here it is. So much good stuff in this thread:
  21. How do you know Starter designed them? Many teams used either in-house or 3rd-party designers and just fed the designs to the manufacturers back then. Not saying Starter didn't design them, but it's possible that all they did was make someone else's design.
  22. Any running back, d-back, and LB can wear 44.
