How do you know Starter designed them? Many teams used either in-house or 3rd-party designers and just fed the designs to the manufacturers back then. Not saying Starter didn't design them, but it's possible that all they did was make someone else's design.

The channel has sucked since it was rebranded from Comcast and they got rid of the SportsNite show, debate shows, and live non-game programming. It used to be a channel I'd put on for reasons other than to watch a game, but now if it's not a game, it's just lousy infomercials. It's a shame - it was excellent once.

Does this include the regional channels too? NBCSN Philly just laid a bunch more people off.

Yeah. All the parts that mimic tigers are orange anyway (helmet, sleeves, stripes) so that's plenty. The Corey Dillon set was great. Especially when they added black pants to the rotation. I know that some don't like the whole tiger logo on the sleeve, but I don't think there was anything objectively wrong with that set. They could easily use it as the base for a new uniform. Maybe lose the sleeve logo (since we've lost sleeves) and relocate the tiger to either under the collar (replacing the B ) or get rid of it altogether and put a wordmark under the collar.

You're using the word "rebrand" very loosely. Slightly changing number fonts doesn't constitute a "rebrand".

That would have had to be started two years ago, and you don't think there'd be any leaks by now? Typically new unis don't drop until closer to the draft, but we at least know what's coming by now.

So barring some out-of-left-field surprise, like when Warren Sapp leaked that the Bucs were getting new unis despite nothing being mentioned prior, we aren't getting anything of note for 2021. Maybe a patch here and there, maybe some tweaks to the WFT helmet (though nothing even hinted at by the team), but no full overhauls. Pretty dull offseason.

I don't think that's the issue at all, it's just that in all the databases, 'Football Team' is stored in the 'Team_Nickname' column, so the systems use it whenever the nickname is called for, which can lead to situations where you have "Eagles are visiting the Football Team", which looks ridiculous.

When I think of the Panthers, I think of a team that historically is average to slightly-above-average. Certainly not bad, and certainly not great, despite a few bad and a few great seasons. They could do a black helmet and build their look around a lot of black, but I really think what they have now is what's best for them if they just got rid of the gimmicky combinations.

All those things you just said are true, but I can live with them if they would just stop playing mix-and-match so much. Just have silver pants. That's it. If they need black, then they should only be worn with the black jersey maybe once a year. at this point, they have Titanitis, where it takes you a few seconds every time they're on TV before you recognize who they are. They had a very solid brand for close to 25 years, but they've really chipped away at it the last few.

It's ironic - a site that exists for people to complain against ads on uniforms has actually become what it hates. This site is basically the NASCAR of the internet, and it's a shame. I'll never understand why this site requires more advertising than any non-porn site. If CCSLC was a uniform, it'd be this - in fact, this guy should be the mascot. Maybe Chris should sell the space where the Maple Leaf / Star logo is. A GE logo would look great there.

Been getting 502 and 503 errors off and on since this morning. Site is sporadically returning 'service unavailable' for minutes at a time.

Funny - was just looking for it to see if some of the links I put on it were still valid so I could verify something. I can' find it either. Granted, many of the older links were dead, but a lot of time was put into that by several people so I hope it's just lost and wasn't just summarily killed.

It's not possible to report the ads that swallow the screen for 10 seconds and then eventually let you in, and reporting them on mobile isn't really practical. I'm not going to go to the actual advertisers URL (then they win!) We understand that nobody with any ability to help actually cares about the user experience anymore, and that it's not anything within the moderators jurisdiction - but that link is basically "not our problem - if you want to report it, here's a PiTA form to fill out." If there's not a lot of ads reported via that form, it's not because they don't exist, it's more that it's a PiTA and takes less time to deal with the nonsense than to report it. Also, I'm not sure how many are actually talking about actual redirects. I haven't personally seen those - just border ads that take over the entire screen for a few seconds, then top/bottom ads that start out at 1/3 of screen size before reducing (and when you click the little x, there's actually another smaller ad underneath them that you have to click out of again.)

Same. I just ordered enough Sea Foam engine treatment to keep my new Acura running through the next 50 pandemics. By then, the Medicare supplemental insurance I purchased will be kicking in. Guess the ads work! Seriously though - those are on mobile. My Ad Block that I had to use on this site on desktop is saying it's blocked 165 ads on this exact page while I've been typing this. In contrast, a "black-Friday deals" site that I have open has had 17 blocked, and it pretty much exists for ads. The combo of the ads and the sign-in bug really beg the question as to whether the ad-service or software are really the best choices for the site.

The top ad on mobile has more than doubled, and between it and the bottom ad, the actual viewable space is nearly a perfect square on an iPhone 11. Then there’s the ad in the middle you need to scroll through. Unless Acura cars hijacks the entire screen with the border ad that grows before you are allowed to dismiss it. glad I’m not the only one bitching. I know the mods can’t do anything about the ads, but for anyone reading that can do anything, why does this site need more ads on it than any non-porn site on the internet? It really is worse than any other site I visit, and that’s not hyperbole. Desktop and mobile.
