  1. For purposes of this discussion, I think it's fair to say the Packers and Chiefs haven't changed their "basic look" for a long time. The OP counted the Steelers as a "traditional team that won't ever change", even though they changed their numbers (pretty dramatically) 20ish years ago. Now if you want to count the Packers stupidly adding the G to their sleeves as a big change, then OK, but IMO it didn't change their look. I think we're talking about full redesigns, like the Broncos going from orange crush to high-school side paneled trash, the Falcons going from Deion to the nascar-numbered set with all the piping, or the Eagles going from kelly green/silver to midnight green/black.
  2. Technically they changed their logo, but I wouldn't count that. If they've essentially never changed, then should they be put in the category as the Packers, Chiefs, et al? They haven't changed until they have.
  3. Depending on how technical you want to be, the Eagles are either 1996 or 2003.
  4. I hope they don't introduce an orange jersey. They have enough potential combos due to them having 3 pants, so new combos aren't needed. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but my preferred combos for them are brown over orange, and white over brown.
  5. Those are also teams that have no other trademarked emblem on their jerseys, so the logo patches make it so they can take action against jabronis that are selling knockoffs. Without the patches, it would be much more difficult to go after people selling plain white jerseys with black numbers to Jaguars fans.
  6. They could do a powdered-wig effect on their helmets and be the Washington's. Or, if that's too controversial due to his status as a slave owner, do the same thing but go with Washington Markie's.
  7. The unused prototype thread is locked? If so that's dumb. EDIT: Here it is. So much good stuff in this thread:
  8. How do you know Starter designed them? Many teams used either in-house or 3rd-party designers and just fed the designs to the manufacturers back then. Not saying Starter didn't design them, but it's possible that all they did was make someone else's design.
  9. Any running back, d-back, and LB can wear 44.
  10. The channel has sucked since it was rebranded from Comcast and they got rid of the SportsNite show, debate shows, and live non-game programming. It used to be a channel I'd put on for reasons other than to watch a game, but now if it's not a game, it's just lousy infomercials. It's a shame - it was excellent once.
  11. Does this include the regional channels too? NBCSN Philly just laid a bunch more people off.
  12. What "heavy rumors" surrounding the Cards?
  13. Yeah. All the parts that mimic tigers are orange anyway (helmet, sleeves, stripes) so that's plenty. The Corey Dillon set was great. Especially when they added black pants to the rotation. I know that some don't like the whole tiger logo on the sleeve, but I don't think there was anything objectively wrong with that set. They could easily use it as the base for a new uniform. Maybe lose the sleeve logo (since we've lost sleeves) and relocate the tiger to either under the collar (replacing the B ) or get rid of it altogether and put a wordmark under the collar.
  14. You're using the word "rebrand" very loosely. Slightly changing number fonts doesn't constitute a "rebrand".
  15. That would have had to be started two years ago, and you don't think there'd be any leaks by now? Typically new unis don't drop until closer to the draft, but we at least know what's coming by now.
  16. So barring some out-of-left-field surprise, like when Warren Sapp leaked that the Bucs were getting new unis despite nothing being mentioned prior, we aren't getting anything of note for 2021. Maybe a patch here and there, maybe some tweaks to the WFT helmet (though nothing even hinted at by the team), but no full overhauls. Pretty dull offseason.
  17. I don't think that's the issue at all, it's just that in all the databases, 'Football Team' is stored in the 'Team_Nickname' column, so the systems use it whenever the nickname is called for, which can lead to situations where you have "Eagles are visiting the Football Team", which looks ridiculous.
  18. EDIT: Edited before the MOD EDIT
  19. It has to be your imagination. It can't get worse. Can't even tell anyone to "use the search feature, NOOB!" because chances are that they did.
  20. I wonder if Chris' book has ads on every other page and in the middle of some.
  21. When I think of the Panthers, I think of a team that historically is average to slightly-above-average. Certainly not bad, and certainly not great, despite a few bad and a few great seasons. They could do a black helmet and build their look around a lot of black, but I really think what they have now is what's best for them if they just got rid of the gimmicky combinations.
  22. All those things you just said are true, but I can live with them if they would just stop playing mix-and-match so much. Just have silver pants. That's it. If they need black, then they should only be worn with the black jersey maybe once a year. at this point, they have Titanitis, where it takes you a few seconds every time they're on TV before you recognize who they are. They had a very solid brand for close to 25 years, but they've really chipped away at it the last few.
  23. Didn't Green Bay scrap a throwback for this year in favor of next year? Or am I misremembering?
