  1. Does anyone besides college kids watch daytime ESPN? I tried once on a PTO day, and wanted to throw myself out a window once I realized I couldn't find the remote to change it. It's literally all the same. Every single show is the same, they just repeat each other. I can't even tell you the names of the shows or the hosts, because the just seem like the same. I kinda think that watching sports discussion on TV is ridiculous because people treat it like it's real news, and we treat some of these guys like they're real journalists, when it's literally nothing more than an entertainment show, though I have to say that I do enjoy PTI and the show that comes before it, somewhat (though I want to punch Woody Hayes repeatedly until my fist is actually going through his face and hitting either the wall behind him or the floor if I'm standing over him, and then I'll rip his lips off because they annoy me.)
  2. If "streaming" TV from a desktop or laptop is considered "old-fashioned", I must be prehistoric. I used to wiggle rabbit ears around and/or rotate a rooftop antenna so I could pick up channel 9 (I think it was 9) in NY to watch a Flyers home game vs the Rangers since home games were on pay TV.
  3. It doesn’t need to “pop”. It’s classic and classy without the unnecessary trim. I feel the same for the Yankees and Phillies.
  4. No, it doesn't. The white outline is totally unnecessary.
  5. Oh Duh... just found it. It's kind of burried in there - it's the last of the pinned topics, and is never bolded. I think it's easy to overlook... but maybe that's just me.
  6. How do you get to that? I don't see a "faq" thread or link in this forum. Is it so obvious that I'm missing it?
  7. Where is the FAQ? Maybe I'm blind but I can't seem to locate it.
  8. I love when they pop up on top of the "post" button and clicking the x doesn't work the first few times, so you either need to wait, or abort (which I shoudl probably do anyway), or when one pops up and the page shifts, so you end up accidentally "following" a topic because you were about to click something else.
  9. A local seafood shop and it's distribution company:
  10. I can't trick myself into seeing an eagle no matter how hard I try.
  11. This uniform combination has never been worn, but is listed as a home uniform from 2003-2007. They wore green-on-green once prior to the 2003 redesign (end of 2002 season) but never from 2003 on. http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/hbgk6yno52fzaba70gck3mudm/Philadelphia_Eagles/2003/Home_Uniform
  12. I often click on the wrong thing because of how it seems to make the screen jump a bit as it comes and goes. It's more annoying than the big ad that separates the first topic from the rest.
  13. Ok, I’ll pay anything to get rid of the pop-up ad at the bottom. Literally anything. Just give me a paypal address and I’ll wire over my whole 401(k).
  14. I listen to baseball on the radio all the time, whether at the shore, back yard, over the TV broadcast, etc. I listen to radio Eagles broadcasts exclusively, unless the timing is just too far off from TV. I don't watch much Flyers or Sixers, but their radio broadcasts are far superior to TV. Honestly, I think the only people that don't listen to sports on the radio at least some non-insignificant amount of time are people in areas that simply don't have great broadcasts.
  15. Pretty sure "radio is not a prudent financial decision" doesn't apply to all markets.
  16. Making a dup acct is like gambling on baseball. Lots of players have done far worse, but that’s the one rule that’s posted everywhere and is clearly defined and non-arbitrary.
  17. Just noticed a couple threads added to the Goldmine - nice!
  18. I’m NOT wearing a shirt that says “Chris Creamer”. Luv ya bro, but... well, you know. Now tell me more about this tote bag...
  19. The ads aren't that bad, and I think everyone understands the need for them. That being said, yes I'd most likely do it (depending on the price of course) more because I feel like I spend so much time here that I should pay, but a small perk like that would probably seal the deal.
  20. Not me. It seems to come and go, and comes at really annoying times. Also, the "x" is so small that when in phone, I often fat-finger it and either click the ad or whatever is partially covered up behind it. I noticed the same ad on the UniWatch site, so obviously it's not unique to this site, and I'm sure I'll get used to it, but hover / pop-up ads are bad.
  21. The ad bar that shows up on the bottom of both mobile versions (iPhone, iPad) often pops up in front of contact, or right over a reply button you’re about to hit, and is often just blank and very distracting. Clicking the x to dismiss it just makes it docked rather than in a floating gray bar.
  22. At this point we need a separate subforum just for these ridiculous minor league promotions.
  23. I’ve actually never had pork roll, and people look at me like I have two heads when I say that. Scrapple, when cooked well done, is great - AS LONG AS YOU DONT THINK ABOUT WHAT IT IS. I’m typing this from the Melrose Diner in South Philly, smelling the scrapple on my neighbor’s plate, and while it’s not making me hard, there’s definitely a little movement happening.
  24. The old '80s Eagle with its spread wings would look sweet in front of the trophy - better than the modern logo, though I do love the way the midnight green looks on these. Who knows - in 3 or 4 seasons when they're getting their 4th or 5th ring, maybe they'll be back in fauxback uniforms.
  25. Fixed yours too. Again, accuracy is important. Please do better next time. A few interesting things about the rings: 1. They were presented at the ECW Arena! 2. “We all we got, we all we need” was basically them saying that they don’t need Wentz or the other injured guys. It’s totally just innocent motivation for the guys that were still playing, but kinda sucks for Wentz since his ring literally points out that he wasn’t playing.
