  1. How is their branding directionless? It sucks, but it isn't directionless. Sword in logo, sword on jersey. Numbers with sharp edges to mimic the sword. The flame is (allegedly) from greek mythology. It has a direction. It's just poorly executed (at least the uniforms. I don't have much issue with the logo other than it doesn't scale well.)
  2. It was a great uniform. I think if they were still around today (and didn't do a full overhaul), we'd see it lose the white outline on the script and shrink the sleeve trim, which would put it on par with any other classic uniform. (probably would ditch the front number, or jut go solid blue.) As great as that road uniform was, its home counterpart was awful. If they had lasted longer, in addition to the tweaks to the road I just mentioned, I'd return the home to being either solid white with the logo on the chest, numbers on left chest, and racing stripes replaced by sleeve trim, or pinstripes with the chest logo and no other trim or front numbers.
  3. Are the D-Backs still trying to get a new stadium? If this is the type of promotion they have to run to get fans - after a pennant - maybe they don't belong there. That's less than $4 per game. Contract them.
  4. It's similar to how Rivera didn't go for two to beat the Eagles because "his guys were gassed". It's extremely likely he would have gotten it, but instead, like McDermott, he chose OT. And the rest is history. EDIT: I like McDermott. He's a local guy, and he got a raw deal with the Eagles - put into a position that he wasn't ready for - being asked to replace a legend and be just like him, which was an impossible task.
  5. I can’t believe McDermott kneeled on the ball going into OT, considering the way they were shredding the eagles D. It wasn’t much time, but he had TOs, and just need d to get to FG range which would have been two or three quick sideline passes.
  6. I’m going to disagree that the color was exactly the same as other stock greens, because each vendor was allowed to make retail jerseys for teams that they didn’t have the license for, and side-by-side, a Wilson Eagles jersey looked noticeably brighter than a Russel one, which was different than a Champion (which the jets wore). Not doubting what the specs say, but I’ve seen them side by side and they were clearly different.
  7. I never said it's an example of refs being against the Eagles. I'm saying that if they were so much for them, which has been alluded to, those borderline calls wouldn't be called against them. Especially when penalties (legit, but close enough to go uncalled if there was any pro-Eagle conspiracy) basically advanced Dallas the whole way up the field and all but gave them the game (until they Cowboy'd it away.) Again - legit calls, but not egregious. Whenever a team is consistently good, people come up with the "they get all the calls" thing. In a few cases it's true (let's not forget SBXL happened) and I do believe that some games are intentionally influenced for network and/or gambling purposes. But the notion that they're being gifted calls is laughable.
  8. I have an authentic from 1991 (back when "proline" and authentics were just becoming a thing... and you couldn't get them with player names. It's noticeably darker than the current ones. The fabric is obviously completely different - so I can't say that the dye is a different color or not - but they don't look the same. The rained-on jersey looked closer to the original. Regardless, the helmet matches neither the dry nor rained version. They need to go back to the paint factory with that one.
  9. That's funny, considering the amount of borderline penalties called against the Eagles that allowed Dallas to drive all the way down the field at the end a few weeks ago - including a roughing the passer, that while technically legit, could easily have been let go and nobody would have complained. Yesterday, when marching towards the game-tying drive, they were called for two center false starts that were very borderline (and how often does that even get called?) that backed them out of tying range (I don't think the odds were in favor of their kicker making a 59-yard kick on a gross field in pouring rain.) They were also hit with a very borderline roughing call on Buffalo's drive in OT, that could easily have been let slide. So no - objectively (and yes, I'm not some immature fan boy that can't view his team objectively), I don't think they've been getting the benefit of the doubt any more than any other typical missed call. If anything, they've been getting hosed at ends of games (it happened against KC too.)
  10. Don't forget... he ran the Eagles offense in 2017 when Wentz was the odd-on MVP favorite before hurting himself and then a backup took them to the SB (and several receivers and RBs had career years.) Everything went down hill after he left. The reality is, I'm hoping Shane Steichen gets canned. Really hoping (and hoping he'd be willing to return to his old role.)
  11. Reich will be a "special advisor" to the Eagles in about 5 minutes, give or take. They should make him the OC immediately, but the optics there wouldn't be good.
  12. It would help him so much if they invested in their line and gave him more of a chance to see the field and make plays. From the little I've seen, when he does get time, he makes good decisions, has good touch, and can move enough to extend plays just enough to find a guy. But that doesn't seem to happen consistently. Good teams spend top-10 picks on OL/DL. Looks like they occasionally invest in DL, but they've been neglecting OL. Better teams invest in the 1st round, but also identify guys later on (Jason Kelce 6th rd, Jordan Mailata - never played american football before - 7th rd.) Rest of guys 1st or 2nd. EDIT: I don't know how good of a comparison this is since I haven't watched either enough, but it feels like he could be having a similar run as Brock Purdy, and if you flipped them, we'd be having the same convo about each other just in reverse.
  13. 1. doubtful, however if they go on another 5-6 year sellout streak where ticket prices are prohibitively expensive, the other team could become the one where families can actually afford to take their kids, who might grow up to be fans. OR, when the Phillies blow, the other team could be the only place to see AL stars like (based on 2022) Otani. Back in the day, people would have packed an AL stadium to see some of the players that rarely appear in NL parks. 2. Re: Constitutions - can we stop naming teams as if they're come up by a board room full of 70-year-old white guys? I'm not saying to name them the Dirty Dawgzzz, but something more younglings can relate to that's not embarrassing for their parents to wear.
  14. I don't know why I'm wasting 30 seconds replying to you, but if they were 6-5 with losses in super close games, then people could say that those teams "should have lost to the Eagles", and the cycle repeats itself. Fans of bad teams usually play the "we were 5 plays away from having 5 more wins". Eagles fans are critical, and do know that they're a few plays away from having a few losses, but they are 10-1. And are beating good teams. And have shown that they can win in playoffs and compete toe-to-toe in a super bowl. The Vikings, they are not. They'll lose the nexxt two tough. Who's getting one-sided officiating? The Eagles, who get called for two questionable false snaps on the center which took them out of normal-tying field goal range at the end of regulation? Get called for defensive holding seemingly every drive, and always get a 'roughing the passer' in the 4th quarter of nearly every game (in at least one case where the QB fell on his own without even being touched)?
  15. black helmets like those would look nice - with gold(or black) pants. and while it’s only Been a few years (I think?) I always forget that the refs used to wear shorts.
  16. I know who has the best records and who's at the top of the standings, but I don't follow any other team's schedule or day-by-day goings on. After they beat the Chiefs, I had to check the standings like 15 times just to confirm it was real. Also I believe whatever the writers and insiders on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) tell me to believe (which is also how I know who to vote for in elections... though now I wonder why half these people have bios written in Cyrillic). Per said Russian hackers: Eagles are somehow: ** Are 27-2 in their last 29 regular-season games started by Jalen Hurts ** Have won 14 straight against teams with winning records EDIT: To whichever dope called them the Vikings, please find a stretch of Viking football where they won 14 straight against teams with winning records. I doubt they've won more than a few per season.
  17. Not sure if another team has had a stretch like this (I'm assume so, but I don't pay attention to other teams) but they're playing the 4 other teams with the most wins over the past three seasons - in a row. Somehow 2-0 so far. Don't know how, other than Jalen Hurts being the most calm and cold-blooded player I've ever seen.
  18. Should be more than two after the past few games: Hurts is 27-2 in his last 29 regular-season starts. There's no way he'll get to 28-2 after 30. I cannot even see a path to 28-3 after 31.
  19. In the rain, the Eagle jerseys looked pretty darned close the ones they were trying to emulate. But their helmets looked like a sick seafoam green, or sage green, or some other type of green.
  20. The Eagles are making a complete mockery of the cliche that "it's hard to win in the NFL". Week in and week out, they play like complete trash, make baffling coaching decisions, kill themselves with penalties, and yet still win. And they're beating teams with winning records, and good QBs. Not just beating up on the Giants of the world (who they haven't actually played yet.) I don't get it. Someone called them the Vikings. I kinda get that - but the Vikings didn't beat good teams, and didn't nearly win Super Bowl the previous year. There's really no comparison - Jalen Hurts has accomplished more in three seasons than Kirk Cousins has in his entire career. It's all going to come back and bite them when it matters most - but I said that last week, and the week before, and so on. Playing three straight opponents coming off of mini-byes is tough - especially when it's the Bills, 49ers, and Cowboys. We'll see how it goes. If the 49ers can't wax this team by three scores then they suck. A true contender should be able to destroy this Eagles defense, and confuse their moronic OC. But as long as Jalen Hurts is there, there's a chance.
  21. right… and I’m saying there won’t be any more. LA was unique in that it had no teams, is a mega market and road trip destination, and FOX and CBS each wanted a team, back when the contracts were by conf.
