Yeah, the Cavs current set is one those "if you can get past this or that, it's not bad" sets, which by nature is not a good thing and keeps it from being a truly great uniform set.

And that is too bad, because it really has the potential to be pretty dang great. But all the aforementioned inconsistencies plus their annoying alternate spree watering down the identity really knock the whole set down a few notches.

Totally. The Cavs could go with the yellow alternate as the primary home and the regular road maroon uniform or the white uniform (with some white trim on the road and alts to better match, but it's also OK by me if not) and they'd be dang near perfect, having a color palette unique to the NBA.

Instead, they water down that awesome Maroon/Yellow look with BFBS and NFNS alternates, which, if you're counting, are colors that half of the league wears (but still, thank you Hawks).

Not defending the Cavs' being all over the place with the colors and branding, but they're clearly an Oregon Ducks/Arizona Diamondbacks/Miami Marlins type of team. So many options and combinations, and constantly changing. The rest of us just roll our eyes as they do their thing.

That would have been a REAL great moment ruined by a terrible jersey!!!

Quoth the Raven, "Eat my shorts!"

Sorry, given your avatar, I couldn't resist that quip.

Let's relate it to the topic of the thread. As a Bengals fan (and just an Ohioan in general), I despise the Baltimore Ravens, but for their fans, winning the 2013 Super Bowl had to be pretty sweet. Too bad (or good, depending on your perspective) they won it in leotards.

The Nords would have worn that thing until probably 2001 or so, when they would have replaced the dog with a teal and purple N/igloo logo, with a powder blue throwback on special occasions. That probably would have lasted until the Edge changeover, when they would have gone back to their classic colours but using some Reebok template garbage that was objectively terrible. The provincial flag may or may not have been used.

They would have worn that until this off-season, when they would have announced the return of their classic look. Most people would be happy, but a loud minority would be be demanding the "RoboWolf" be used on the shoulders, because it's "a modern classic."
