I just rode by the location on the Commuter Rail going to work in Boston. They NEED a train stop there between Chelsea and North Station. Could be a massive boost to Encore as well

Insane to me that they didn't install one as part of the casino going up. But, I suspect the public-transit crowd is not the casino's target market. (Relatedly, the largest and most insane parking garage I've ever attempted to navigate is underneath said casino.)

There's supposed to be a pedestrian bridge across the river from the Assembly Row Orange Line station which I think will have to suffice for train access to the site. Kind of a long walk, but an "iconic" one maybe. Of course, the bridge in question is 5 years in discussions without shovels hitting the ground at this point, and will also be a tens-of-millions-of-dollars project (for a PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE), in classic Massachusetts fashion, so we'll see about that.

BTW, there's still going to be a lot of politicking before this happens. Even though this is quite a bit further along than any of the previous failed Kraft plans to get a stadium done. The stadium goes right up to the municipal border with Boston, and all the transportation options run through Boston, where the mayor's administration has been concern-trolling a bit in that regard. Also the mayor is all-in on the plan to turn a city school stadium into the NWSL home stadium on the same timeline, which looks a little funny. Meanwhile there have also been rumblings from the Jacobs family about this competing with TD Garden for concert events, though I would think arena vs. small-stadium tours occupy generally different strata.

Ladies and gentleman, Indy Eleven is just 180 minutes away from qualifying for Concacaf Champions Cup.

And Forge FC just beat Toronto in a Canadian Championship semi! Still the 2nd leg to go, though, and that's not for six more weeks, which is crazy to me.

I haven't paid too close attention to DCU's season, but the wheels certainly fell off on the 2024 campaign by May 15. There's terrible defense and inept scoring. Meanwhile, Luciano Acosta is having another MVP-caliber season with FCC. If only management wasn't this dumbfounded.

As an FCC fan, we thank you for Lucho.

Suspended for July 17 at LAFC, July 20 at Colorado (Rocky Mountain Cup), July 24 All Star Game, August 1 vs Atlas (Leagues Cup). It's one thing for you to get yourself suspended, but it takes a lot for you to get suspended from an All Star game.

I guess it's like the parents saying, "You really messed up and we know you wanted to do this, so we're taking it away:.

DC United have been forced to move their Leagues Cup match vs Santos Laguna on July 31s to Subaru Park in Chester due to field conditions. DC United last played at Audi Field on July 20 in a friendly vs Celtic, and a concert on July 27. The grass was set to be replaced on August 1. Sounds to me like schedule congestion with Leagues Cup might be a cause for the match to be moved.

Why are they having concerts at Audi Field during soccer season? There's plenty of other venues in the area that could have accommodated an Audi Field size crowd.

OT/SN: Blink 182 had a concert at Capital One Arena last night. Had no idea they were still active, and doubly surprised that they are still an NBA arena level draw 🤷🏾‍♂️

I know Salt Lake just had one and an entire half of the field was brown.

Cincinnati also just had one, but the turf was removed prior to the concert and new grass was laid after the concert just days before the next game. As a result the last two home games the sod had been coming up because it has had a chance for the roots to take hold yet.

If these concerts were happening on fully turf fields I can understand but having the concerts on natural grass during the season  is an absolute nightmare for grounds crews

The Cleveland Guardians had concerts at Jacobs Field during the year when it first opened. After one concert killed a huge patch of grass in the outfield, they stopped doing that.

Fenway Park has had nearly a dozen concerts per year in recent years and the outfield looks pretty normal or close to it when the baseball teams come back. What's the difference?
