yh
Nader clearly doesn't understand the impact that "free speech" can have on the dynamics of a sports team and the need to present deterrents against others "exercising their free speech rights" at the expense of team chemistry. VitaminD
Nader clearly needs a hobby. Or he needs to find a better star to hitch his wagon to. Is he that upset about being out of the public conscience that he's championing TO's cause against a private organization who laid out the terms of the employee's employment, then axed him when the employee failed to live up to those terms? Seadragon76
Is it me or are the Eagles a lightining rod for idiots to latch on?Come on. You had Rush Limbaugh burning Donovan McNabb, and now you got Ralph Nader, a certified dumbass, saying that T.O. got hosed.Hey, Nader. Go back to badmouthing GM and their cars, the Eagles don't need this baloney.
Cujo
Free speach? Owens was being a distraction in the "workplace". As I see it, after receiving many write-ups (warnings from the team), his employer got sick of it and canned his ass (suspended and thrown off the team, with pay).I liked Nader better when he was helping Bush win elections. Jigga
Nader has it completely wrong...shocker. The Eagles' punishment of Terrell Owens is not a free speech issue at all. They never told T.O. he couldn't talk to the media. The Eagles never told any of the players or anyone otherwise associated with the organization not to speak on the subject. It's funny to me that so many people have confused freedom of speech with freedom from repercussions when you say something you shouldn't. The difference? I can call my president, who is a great American, an imcompetent butthole and not worry about being thrown in jail. That's freedom of speech. However, if I call my boss an imcompetent butthole, he is well within his right to fire my ass too. It's called insubordination. You have the right to speak your mind, but we have the right to hold you accountable for what you say. Works for T.O., Ralph Nader, George Bush, Bill Clinton, Scott McClellan, Pat Robertson, and everyone else.
