FiddySicks
Sorry, no source as of yet. I just saw it on ESPNs Bottom Line. floydnimrod
If does in fact retire he certainly deserves it. He has done nothing but good things for the sport since he came in. Mancakes: The Bandhttps://twitter.com/FloydNimrod

Cujo
Sorry, no source as of yet. I just saw it on ESPNs Bottom Line. That would be too bad Tags has been a decent Commish in his tenureI got it right here for ya ... Tagliabue reportedly considering retirementIf he does choose to retire, he will go down as one of American sports' all-time greatest comissioners. He brought football to a number of cities and also brought football back to a couple more. He also had no labor stoppages during his tenure. As a fan, I can truly appricitae that. I feel there should be a spot for him in Canton whenever he does in fact decide to call it a career.

STL FANATIC
He HAS been good.As a Rams fan though, I can't fully like him. He brought the NFL to a lot of cities, but for some reason he tried his darndest to stop the Rams from moving to St. Louis.Rams decide to move and all of the sudden you have to pay a big sum of money to move. Raiders move just week laters and that moving price no longer exists. The Rams sued and lost, and there were bitter feelings for a while. And STL Fanatic, i think that the desire for the Rams to not move to the Lou may have had something to do with that Tags and the rest of the NFL wanted St. Louis to gain an expansion team. Could be wrong though. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
STL FANATIC
Well, they moved to St. Louis after our expansion bid had failed, but I dunno...maybe he knew they were expanding again and wanted them for that one... yh
I think St. Louis got caught in the midst of an issue that wasn't personal against the city at all. I think the opposition to the Rams' move had more to do with the fact that Tags knew Al Davis was going to move the Raiders out of LA and he was more concerned with losing LA altogether than trying to prevent St. Louis from getting a team. Paul Tagliabue had enormous shoes to fill when he took over for Pete Rozelle and he has done a tremendous job. He certainly deserves a bronze bust in Canton. And now the question is asked . . . does Gene Washington become the first African American commissioner of a major American pro sports league? Mac the Knife
Tagliabue had the unenviable task of coming in after the greatest commissioner of any professional sport, Pete Rozelle. Though impossible to top Rozelle's legend, Tagliabue carved his own niche and, retire or not, has cemented his own legend. The NFL:Bert Bell helped build it and kept it alive.Pete Rozelle built it into what it has become.Paul Tagliabue kept it together, and expanded on it.The next commissioner, should they take over now or down the road, will have even bigger shoes to fill than Tagliabue did, as he (or she) will be following multiple greats. yh
If the NFL is smart, they'll hire someone around 37-38 years old who is an attorney, preferably with a Midwestern backround - like say St. Louis. He should also have 2 daughters and participate actively on a sports logos message board/community. If the NFL fails to do that, they'll surely never survive.
