ebod39
funny how in the NY Times article they glance over Tom O'Grady as a "consultant". Yeh, he's only the guy who practically invented sports branding when he was with the NBA in the 1990's.Nice shoutout to Pantone!

MrAsterisk
Dark purple pants would look so sharp with the Ravens' black "hoodlum" alternates.
smith03
I could live with that on Vikes although Iwould prefer they leave well enough alone Just say NO to gray facemasks.

Brian in Boston
Two notes for Uni Watch:* Mexico's uniform color scheme is Green, Red and White; Gatorade's color scheme is Green, Orange and White. * The extreme radical arching on Vanderbilt's alternate basketball uniforms looks horribly assenine. MrAsterisk
The extreme radical [sic] arching on Vanderbilt's alternate basketball uniforms looks horribly assenine. It would look okay if it were arched arund the number, as opposed to above it.

Yeah, but they're changing their unis and look, so why not ditch it? Or at least make it a secondary color. I'm of the mind that purple is the worst possible color for a team (with an exception of the Lakers). That's just my opinoin though.

I'm of the mind that purple is the worst possible color for a team (with an exception of the Lakers). That's just my opinoin though. So what color would a team affectionately known as the "Purple People Eaters" wear, if purple's so bad? Given that their division rivals have blue (navy and otherwise), silver, orange, gold and green covered, that doesn't leave a lot on the palette for the Vikes, who were the first pro team to even wear purple (the Lakers joined them in 1966, but called it "Forum Blue").Purple's a great uniform color. It's the color of royalty, and it generally serves the teams who wear it pretty well. Your opinion is your own, but for the Vikings, this is going to be a tough argument to sell people on. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
