OK lemme get this straight. Your ONE out from a World Series title, no scratch that, one STRIKE away from a ring and you toss it to the backstop?!

You know what was great about RBI baseball is that the Mets were nearly unbeatable on there. You use them you can easily go unbeaten through the other teams.

Is this the first time you ever heard of the 1986 World Series?

Yeah seriously...I thought everyone knew that story.

First time ive ever heard the play by play. I only knew the Buckner story. Hell, i wasnt born till 3 years after the series was over. :P

Thats a shock to me. Seriously, why the hell does Buckner get so much blame rather than the two pitchers, especially the one who tossed to the backstop ONE strike away from the title. I mean its not like Buckne'rs play would have ended the game in Boston's favor. I always ahd the notion that Buckner missin g the ball let two runs in, the tying and the winning.

Poor Buckner. He'll never ever live this one down.

He'll always be blamed for the loss in the eyes' of casual, non-informed baseball fans. However, for the people that really know baseball and can see through the "fog", Buckner was never the main reason the Sox lost the series...

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
