yankeesmarc923 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 old:new:AJHL is the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Personally, I like the new logo. The old one was just too outdated.
ZBoyer Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Didn't someone on here submit a logo that was a finalist in this league's contest?
Mings Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Yep, this is a variation of the one RedEye submitted, so I can only imagine that he was responsible for the final one as well.He has also done some work for the USHL.
yankeesmarc923 Posted May 31, 2006 Author Posted May 31, 2006 thats awesome that guys from this forum make logos professionally. i'm pretty new to the forum, but so far it's great.
andrewharrington Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 That is very nicely done. Much better than the one in the poll. I love how the trail on the puck defines the bottom of the shield. Super tight. Props to RedEye. MarkAtnip Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Greg beat me to this but here is a bit of a visual for you, plus an additional UHL logo that is at least a first cousin. Were these done by the same company?
paynomind Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Wow, guys... if swooping pucks define logos as being similar enough for you to mention, I think you'd be dissapointed to look at hockey logos across the world. The swooping puck is a natural design element that i beleive RedEye integrated in a nice way, as Tempset said, nicely defining the bottom of the shield shape like I have not seen before. josh_cat_eyes Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Didn't someone on here submit a logo that was a finalist in this league's contest? Didn't Ian Baker summit one for that contest?
AAO Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 i submitted an entry that ended up being i think 2nd or 3rd place, redeye beat me out though, finishing with the new logo. this was my entry: Behance Network || ianbakar.com || Dribbble
RedEye Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Thanks guys,The logo in the first post is a "secondary" version of the league's logo.... you can see the "official" logo at ajhl.caWe did modify my submission a bit to play up the puck's swish... glad others caught the fact that I used the swish to define the bottom of the shield. There are parts of the swish that they requested be done that I personally am ho hum about. They wanted the white and red parts "heavier" but I preferred them a bit thinner so the blue would be more dominant but you do what they wish.Still waiting on the "award" though.... how long does mail take to get from Canada to Nebraska for crying out loud??? Any Canadians have any idea? We are going on 16 days since they mailed the cheque. Also, it is in Canadian funds.... so what is the exchange rate?
yankeesmarc923 Posted June 1, 2006 Author Posted June 1, 2006 one canadian dollar equals roughly 91 cents US

Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too?
