BBM
From Uni Watch's blog, he posted this link at the end:http://shop.mlb.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=2527749Which is really odd, because I've never seen the losing team's merch on sale before. I didn't see if I could actually purchase this stuff, but I was considering buying a shirt for my friend as a gag. Did MLB.com goof?
hecticbro
I've seen it before. They make championship gear for both teams so it's instantly available when the deciding game ends. Sometimes stores will sell it for dirt cheap when the "champion" depicted in the merch loses.I like this one the best:"A 24KT Gold Commemorative Coin commemorating the NY Mets incredible 2006 National League Pennant coming 20 years after their last World Series title!"Maybe it'll work as a subway token? FiddySicks
This goes out to all those Mets fans out there....Remind us... how'd those Nats do?I dont think you can accually buy this stuff. They take pre odrers on the stuff, but it gets cancelled if the team doesnt make it, and whatever is made is donated to third world countries. Or thats how it used to be anyway. SmoothieX
I was in a rotten mood over the Mets yesterday to start with, that championship merchandise juts rubbed salt in it.
bravesfan
I was at one of those discount stores like TJ Max or AJ Wright and I picked up a 2003 NL Champion Chicago Cubs T-Shirt. It's got the Cubs Logo and Holy Cow Cubs Win on the front. It's pretty cool and it's all the more interesting that it's the Cubs. It's a little small now but I think I'll hang on to it.
