Stand Up 8
My high school has had a traditional look for our football team as long as I can remember. Just plain blue pants, blue jerseys with yellow and white "Northwestern" style stripes and a gold helmet with a blue-white-blue stripes. Over the last two years, though, we've added different "elemants" to our jerseys. Last year we added an insert to the front of the blue jersey, similar to Miami's, but without the wrap around. Then this year, on our white jerseys, we added a blue side panel. I like the new look, but what I like even better is that we kept the "Northwestern" style stripes. Here's two pics of the jerseys, and an upclose of the helmet. Please tell me how you like them.
Hat Boy
I don't like the colorful side panels that creep onto the front of the jersey (at least it doesn't wrap around to the back like on the opponent in the black jersey).I also don't care for "VIKES" on the front of the jersey. If your team name is the Vikings, then have it say "VIKINGS."

ZapRowsdower8
My old school is also named the Vikings and oddly enough also uses blue and gold. I like our uniforms better, no offense. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/photos/2004-...21hsquad2-b.jpg
ericcartman19
Wow! This is weird. I know both of the teams you are talking about, Hopewell Vikings and Lamar Vikings. I lived about 10 miles from Hopewell and live a mile from Lamar! I'm moving back to Pittsburgh in November.
BlueSky
(In best Jim Mora "Playoffs?" voice) Jerseys? You want me to care about Arlington Lamar's JERSEYS? I'm still bitter from about 10 years ago when some punk high-school kid from Arlington Lamar kicked a 52-yard field goal to beat our Lewisville Fighting Farmers in the playoffs. No, really, they're called the Farmers and he really kicked a 52-yard field goal to beat us as time ran out, in Texas Stadium no less. Actually it was pretty amazing...you just don't see many 50+ yard field goals in high school, especially game-winners on the last play. The little %*#&@%*#. I think both went undefeated that year.Lewisville won state in 1993 and 1996, it might have been 1995 when they lost on that long field goal. The 1993 game was one of the best I've ever seen on any level, with the Farmers winning a seesaw battle 43-27 by scoring with 21 seconds left. They drove 80 yards in under 3 minutes, which doesn't sound impressive unless you consider that they ran the wishbone exclusively and really couldn't pass their way downfield. They converted a 4th and 1 and a 3rd and 8 on the drive, the first on a naked bootleg and the latter via a 25-yard pass off the option.Even then, the MacArthur Generals returned the ensuing kickoff to the Lewisville 40. They tried a desperation trick play on the last snap and fumbled. They recovered but had no times outs and the clock expired. The '96 game was a blowout, something like 51-28. Stand Up 8
I'm still a little bitter that Lewisville beat us in the baseball playoffs last year. But who cares about that, it's baseball. Not football.

OldRamsFan
Here's the real Arlington team, though I don't like the jerseys.http://www.exaweblink.com/photos2006/skyli...arsity%20Elmer%Arlington High used to have awesome uniforms; they were just like the current Jets uniforms, even with the same colors. It was really cool, because the helmet looked like the Inidianapolis colts.Go COLTS!
rock55choc
I'm not really feeling the horizontal and vertical shoulder stripes on the home "VIKES" jeresy. They really clash and just dont work for me. Either having UCLA tripes on the shoulders or a triple stripe on the sleeve , not both.
capn89
I really don't like the mix of old school and new school. I'm sure it can be done, but it doesn't seem to work with these.
FiddySicks
Well, since this is turning into a Blue and Gold Vikings thread, ill post my alma mater's stuff. This is my jerseys when I used to play for the South Tahoe Vikings. Home RoadSo we as well used blue and gold, but we used a more Royal Blue and Vegas Gold. It usually looked good, when worn right. blue jerseys with gold pants, gold jerseys with blue pants. but every once in awhile for special occasions (homecoming) we would go monochrome blue at home. And once in a rare occasion (other schools homecoming games) we would wear these little beauties.Overall they looked pretty decent, but the all gold was a bit much for me. During my senior year (I decided not to play) the team reverted back to what was worn during my freshman and sophomore years. Not too bad. Best color combo IMO and I think the diamonds on the collar and sleeve look pretty good. Anyway, thats all I got for now. Personally I like my alma mater's look a bit than yours, but theres obviously bias and your look isnt bad.
