OMMF
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v480/dustyb58/duckscup.pngNo love for Ilya? While he doesn't meet the requirements, I can't imagine Anaheim would leave his name off the cup.

DelayedPenalty
He won 3 games I think while Giggy was off with his newborn son.
OMMF
41 games played or one game played in the Final. That's usually what it takes.
dude1644
I think for goalies it may be a different rule, or how many times you dress for a game. If that were not the case, I don't think many back-ups, especially on the Devils, would be on there and I think they are.
SG30
All you have to do is put a uniform on and sit your ass on the bench. By play they mean dress.
habsfan1
All you have to do is put a uniform on and sit your ass on the bench. By play they mean dress.Actually, it's not true. To get you're name on the cup, you need to play at least a certain number of games. But whatever, he's still a SC Champ!! He'll get a day with the cup and so forth. jman077
I know Legace got his name on the Cup despite never playing in the finals in 2002. Its pretty much up to the teams discretion. Sig courtesy of LEWJ
ravenmaster
They were actually explaining this in great detail games 4 and 5, so...maybe everyone was watching the CBC feed?Anyway, one has to play 40 games during the regular season or one game in the Stanley Cup finals to automatically qualify to be on the cup. The teams must petition for any other play to have their name on it. Petitions aren't always granted, but I bet Bryzgailov is on there.
ColeJ
i've never heard of a backup goalie NOT being on the cup.
josh_cat_eyes
What about Sebastien Caron? He was a backup of a sort but he never played any games. He hoisted the cup though because I remember seeing him and I was like why is he there."Cat Eyes" - Josh

I don't think its ice time they look at, they look at who was on the roster...but like you said, whatever! He's a champ and thats that.
MVP
i've never heard of a backup goalie NOT being on the cup.I don't think Corey Schwab was ever credited for the Cup when the Devils won it back on 02-03.
