TobinCEO Posted July 28, 2007 Share Posted July 28, 2007 As many of you are already aware, the Central Hockey League (CHL) has awarded an expansion franchise to Rapid City, South Dakota for the 2008-09 season.I was thinking just for fun we could have a contest by creating names and logos of the new team. Just a thought but I figured it might be a good way to see everyones talents come alive, hell I will dust off my sad design hat and take a stab at it myself. If anyone is interested give it a shot. The area has many dinosaur bones and the blackhills gold is famous in this area.How about Rapid City Gamblers - Deadwood, SD is nearby and they have some casinos there.Rapid City Renegades Rapid City RoughridersRCHC (rapid city hockey club) Rapid City Western Flyers (a cowboy, not the little red wagon)Rapid City RancherosRapid City Rush (since Mt. Rushmore is nearby the logo can have the Presidents - imagine the boys with sticks)Rapid City Ravage (they can use Nitroseed's "Ravage" logo he used for our lacrosse league)Rapid City is a great city to see !!! Personally I have always felt that a teams nick name should reflect its geographical area in some way. As a way to make the community feel it's their team.
