2008 Sports Predicitions

I predict Tank comes back from his suspension and immediately lays down over 5,000 pent-up posts from his two month exile, on subjects that make us all wonder why the hell he's bringing them back up.

I predict a Cincinnati Bengal will be arrested.

I predict a former San Francisco Giant will just go ahead and have himself renamed "*", a la Prince in the 1990's.

I predict the Boston Celtics will shock the NBA by actually making the playoffs.

I predict there'll be at least one ultra-violent incident not related to game play occur on some field or court this year.

Nationally:

BCS Champion: LSU

Super Bowl champion: Green Bay

NCAA Basketball champion: North Carolina

Stanley Cup champion: Detroit

NBA champion: San Antonio

World Series champion: Detroit

Thank you for brightening my day with your vote of confidence. I would not make this a prediction, but if it comes true, I will pretty much retire from professional sports viewing for the rest of my life so I can end on a high note.

BCS: LSU over The Ohio State University

SB XLII: Green Bay over Jacksonville

Stanley Cup: Detroit over Ottawa in 6

NBA Finals: Pistons over Lakers

World Series: Tigers over Dodgers

My teams:

- Lions: Well, let's just hope for a good draft

- Red Wings: It's hard for me to vote against them for the cup this year(being both a Wings fan and simply due to their record), but I'm always a little cautious of their recent playoff woes.

- Angels: I still don't see Torii Hunter as the guy they need, but I'm expecting anoher division title, maybe a trip to the ALCS

- Suns: THey'll easily make playoffs and collapse, as the last few years have shown. Hopefully it's not to the g'dang Spurs.

NBA Finals 08: Celtics over Spurs

Super Bowl XLII: Colts over Packers

World Series 08: Rockies over Tigers

Stanley Cup 08: Canucks over Penguins

NCAA Final Four 08: UNC, Washington State, Tennessee, UCLA (Washington State def. Tennessee)

BCS: Missouri once and for all snags the final no. 1 ranking (cant pick the champ....thats for 2009)

Quick Baseball HOF predictions.....

Ken Griffey Jr. will retire with 612 homers and will earn a ticket to the hall of fame.

A committee on behalf of Shoeless Joe Jackson will try everything possible to get the hitting legend into the hall of fame.

The Veterans Committee will FINALLY get it right and get Gil Hodges into the hall. Even if the voting takes place the next year instead of 08, they'll get ther heads out of thier cracks and get Gil in the hall.

There, I put the ones in bold that have a serious chance of happening. Seriously, the Lakers?

Good for you...don't dislocate your shoulder patting yourself on the back...and enjoy your cookie. :P

Now, had you bet a grand prior to the season on the Jayhawks, then I'd be impressed.

Btw this is old hat for Notre Dame. Knits Rockne made up George Tip's death bed speech.

I picked that UNC would only lose twice in conference and never finish lower than #5. Got that part right.

It also looks like I'm getting close with the Hawks.

Predictions for my favorite teams:

Bengals: Will suck.

Hoosiers: Will suck in both football and basketball.

Cubs: Will suck for the 100th straight year.

Pacers: Will suck their way into the playoffs, only to be decimated by the Celtics.

Blackhawks: Will suck whilst angering Native Americans.

Predictions for teams I kinda like:

Colts: Don't suck at all. They'll go deep into the playoffs, and it's highly possible that they'll win the Super Bowl.

Celtics: Once again, they don't suck at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they win it all this year.

Notre Dame: Will suck until Weis gets over himself and decides to start coaching. At some point, they'll probably get other sports teams that have nothing to do with football, but no one will care. Wait. What's that? They already do? Hey, this prediction's already half-right!

Louisville: Will suck until they hire an actual football coach. In basketball, they won't suck until it's crunch time.

Oh, and I also predict that a horse of some sort will win the Kentucky Derby.

Sigs are for sissies.
