RIP 2008 New York Yankees season

The Yanks are definitely on life-support, but I'm not ready to say they are dead yet.

It's not impossible to rally from 6+ GB in late-August to make the playoffs -- right Mets fans?...

Well the Yankees have to leap two other teams that's not going to be easy.

And how many teams did Los Mets have to drop behind to miss the playoffs...?

Oh :censored:! Beckett scratched from another start and plans to see Dr. James Andrews.

"After Beckett threw a 50-pitch side session Tuesday in New York, Francona said his pitcher felt strong and was on target to start Friday.

The next day, the Red Sox began to hedge, saying they were evaluating the 28-year-old Beckett on a day-to-day basis. Beckett said he appreciated the team being cautious, but still planned to pitch Friday.

"Just day to day. We're going to keep checking. Be smart with it," Beckett said Wednesday. "We're not talking about the end of a season, we're talking about the end of a career when you're dealing with a pitcher's arm."

Hey Metropolitan fans, no love for the Cubs tonight??

He many not be the best hitter out there, but Aramis has been sooooo clutch this year!

I'm surprised that Pat Hughes and Ron Santo didn't explode right on the spot.

The Nationals thought they were playing the Mets.

Well we know they were not playing the Phillies, I hear next time they play the Phillies the Nats will employ that old guy who was pitching to Josh Hamilton in the HR derby to start all three games.

Sooooo, do the Rays have to do an American Express card commercial like the Indians did? Because I still don't think people in that town are aware that their team is in first place.

:cursing:

Famous last words...

Just a strained elbow. He's been placed on the 15 day DL, retroactive to August 18th. Can't afford to lose him, but glad to see the organization is not rushing him back.
