BrianVlietDesign
I've been wanting to do this for a long time. My idea was to design logos, uniforms, and such for a "rivalry" league to the NHL. It would contain teams with markets in cities that have either had major professional teams or are so big, they could most likely handle one. The league name is Ice Hockey International, and for the first season it would have 12 teams.I am currently designing all things associated with these teams, however need a little bit of help with franchise names. Feel free to give me name options, constructive criticism, and even ideas for colors and logos. I will update this regularly. Here are the list of cities I have chosen:IHI Logo:Maurice Richard Conference (East Coast)Logo: TBDHampton Roads Admirals (Norfolk, VA, USA)Primary logo:http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e134/WildWinger88/IHI%20Logos/Anchor-Logo-10-27.jpgHome Uniform:http://i49.tinypic.com/nvxeds.pngAway Uniform:http://i46.tinypic.com/2zqu7x4.pngLes As de Quebec - Quebec Aces (Quebec City, PQ, CAN)Primary logo:http://i47.tinypic.com/331mvkh.pngAlternate logo:http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e134/WildWinger88/IHI%20Logos/AcesAltLogo.pngHome Uniform:http://i48.tinypic.com/1zn8l7t.pngAway Uniform:http://i47.tinypic.com/zn6kiv.pngHartford Whalers (Hartford, CT, USA)Toronto - ????? Viper
Your primary Quebec logo has five Ace cards, including an extra Ace of spades. One thing's for sure, I'll never play poker against you.

Number 8
I know you have 12 cities already but you should consider San Diego, I know its not a traditional hockey market but it could support a NHL level hockey team, and also why is a team from South Carolina called palms , do they even have palm trees there? raysox
That's a palmetto tree. But these look alright. I kinda wish the Palms wore orange homes, not black. @MichaelDanger19Â | Dribbble

Puck
So, you'd create a league that could easily be sued to death by the NHL and intellectual property owners of other team names? Sounds successful.
BrianVlietDesign
So, you'd create a league that could easily be sued to death by the NHL and intellectual property owners of other team names? Sounds successful. Well, some of these franchises names would probably have availability. I could see a Winnipeg and Hartford franchise buying the naming rights from the Hurricanes and Coyotes. Money talks and anything could be possible these days. As for the Avs giving up the Nords name, I doubt it. And even if those teams have a problem with it, it's just a name. They could always create new logos, new colors, and wipe the slate of past history clean to solve that dispute.Plus, some teams could merge into a rival league, such as the Admirals, for a major league status. But, this is why I am allowing name suggestions for some of the franchises. I'm trying to make this as realistic as I can without it being in our realm our reality. NYCFC - MLS CUP CHAMPIONS - 2021

Money Talks, but probably not for a brand new start-up league wanting to use some pretty historical nicknames of the major league of said sport. No way a league like this could afford that much dough for those names. And 2. They're not "just a name", they're registered trademarks and those teams that own those names, OWN those names. You couldn't just use the name but make a different logo and everything is hunky dory. Any lawsuit in this case would end faster than Tiger Woods' divorce. And just like in the divorce, the petitoners are getting paid big time. Â Â https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

Now, MAYBE if it was the actual rebirth of the WHA, maybe. But by then the league would have stepped in and stopped such an occurance from happening. And I'll give you the Admirals would probably consider it, but that's quite the bridge to burn as well.
goforbroke
If you have a conference named after Maurice Richard then you must have a team named the Rockets! Or at least call the conference championship the Rocket Cup. Cool idea... logos are a tad bland for my liking but still classy.

Yes, the first few logos are abit rough, but I was trying to go for "traditional" looks with those teams logos. But, for the other teams, I'm going to try to spice things up. But in all seriousness, I get what you're doing, you're creating teams and their identities based upon the history of those towns. I'm certainly not faulting you for that, as I think if 10 other people did what you're attempting they'd go the same route. So, again, I'm not faulting you for that. I'm just saying that a league couldn't do that. Look at the revival of the WHA tried to do, a go around with the Nordiques by spelling it differently, the Nordiks (total tangent, anyone else envision hecklers with signs that said "Nordicks" or was that just me?). BrianVlietDesign
Palms unmatching jerseys are not good Why they aren't matching?I based it upon a concept I made a few years ago, however I agree with you. I'm thinking of making that black uniform an alternate and making black or red version of the away. NYCFC - MLS CUP CHAMPIONS - 2021
