The_Admiral
Craven still posts at that board attached to the place that makes the NFL coverage maps. I'd go over there to troll him, but they don't let you register with email addresses from hotmail, yahoo, gmail, or pretty much anything. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
illwauk
In a dissenting opinion, Judge Paul V. Niemeyer said that "through this legal action, Bouchat is attempting to hold the Ravens' history hostage for ransom."Guess they should've thought about that before they stole a guys work...I mean, really, you're a friggin' NFL franchise and you couldn't have just paid the guy a trivial (for you) fee to use his logo? Do they need to deny their existence for three years because of a logo that they've already been told they can't profit off of? The_Admiral
Bouchat has never received any compensation for the team's use of his design.Would it have killed this team to throw the man some cash for designing their old logo, which even now more or less lives on as the Maryland shield? Man, nobody beats the NFL when it comes to being a monolithic douchebag. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Even if they win the appeal, it's still gonna cost them in legal fees. Better yet, they could just pay him for the B-wings once and for all and get rid of that ridiculous bird. BlueSky
Just to state the obvious, cases like this are why teams' doors are locked tight to anybody without an NFL Properties or Reebok ID. It's the Ravens' fault, and it's a shame, but if any outside designer ever gets anything worn on an NFL field it'll be a huge surprise. Pretty sad because a lot of the outside work is soooo much better than the crap that comes out of NFL Properties and the uni manufacturers. Blue Falcon
Here is a league that wastes millions on players who don't last more than a couple of years. $10 million is chump change to the Cravens, but whaddaya expect from a team that shares DNA material with Art Modell?Gotta love the hypocrisy of the NFL...fining players who hit pansies like Brett Favre too hard, and then turning around and putting footage of that same vicious hit on one of their overpriced DVDs. Greg Lloyd was very outspoken about the NFL doing exactly that when he was fined $15,000 for hitting.... guess who?

Bouchat has these guys dead to rights apparently, and the fact that they've managed to skirt it even to this degree is pretty unfortunate.
