Here is the commercial showing the new logo:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu9jJXTujtQhttp://penguins.nhl....s.htm?id=546739 DIRECTV Sports Networks announced today that the company’s three regional sports networks – FSN Pittsburgh, FSN Northwest and FSN Rocky Mountain (with sub-region FSN Utah) – will introduce a new brand identity to become ROOT Sports™ in Spring 2011.When the networks officially transition to ROOT Sports, all of the existing team partnerships and programming will remain intact as will the distribution agreements with cable and satellite operators. Over there, Root has a different meaning: Australian Informal - an act of sexual intercourse. I dated this Aussie once, and she thought "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" was a hilarious song because of the "Root, root, root for the home team" line. As an aside I had noticed FSN was using an 'FS(team name)' logo in the top corner of live major league games, but those three stations I assume, werent allowed that same access because they never used it.
