The key word is "kinda," though. I want to see Utah, BC and Maryland before I really judge any of them.At least the reasoning behind the patterns (turtle shell for Maryland, stained glass for BC, etc.) make sense. TFoA
Yes they will. It's inevitable. Nike will eventually envelop all of division 1 football. And I guess to stay on topic, good grief, how many times is GT going to tweak or change their unis? Feels like they've made a uniform change or a tweak to their uniforms every year for the past 4-5 years. Â Â
vmd9
If anything, it'll get to the point where we'll see a reversal of the trend, and the NCAA will prohibit schools from wearing uniforms that aren't predominantly school colors. This would mean that no schools would be able to wear white? Black, grey and white are all neutral colors. The only 2 schools I can think of that added random colors, were TCU (red) and CSU (orange). But they both had reasons behind it. If schools start adding random colors like that for no reason, I'm sure the NCAA will step in.

Well, of course there would be an exception for white uniforms for obvious reasons, but white jerseys that have a paucity of school colors, like in Oregon's case, would be prohibited. bigmike
This is a sports uniform message board. Making a big deal out if the small issue that is uniform and logo design is why we're here. Black for black's sake isn't "fun," "sleek," "intimidating," "tough," an "attitude," or "elite." It's just a trend, and a terrible looking one at that. Like all trends it will pass.As for the NFL, what you call "no fun" I call an attention to brand and aesthetic stability.I completely agree with that actually. However, I don't think it's a trend. You heard it here first: By the end of the decade, every FBS school will have worn black, white or grey/anthicrite (when it's not usual for them to do so) at least once.Apparently you have never heard of Alabama football . If CSU or TCU came out with all white uniforms, with orange or red numbers it would look ridiculous. But you use the example of Oregon, who doesn't do that. But how would they judge the % of colors on the uniform? You can't say that Oregon's whites aren't allowed, but Penn State's are.But like I said 2 teams (TCU, CSU) using random colors isn't really that big of a deal... Not to mention you'd have to factor in the helmet, which all have green or yellow in them. So that was my point of saying how do you judge % of color? Penn State, my comparison, only has blue numbers and a stripe on the helmet? Just guessing percentages they would both have like 10-15% of their uniform in team colors

After all, he is young and it's clear he has no idea how the business world works.Honestly, I don't. I suck at econ and business in general. This is just based on how much influence nike has and how little Adidas and UA have. Plus i really hope UA drops off the face of the earth. Save Auburn and Temple, they are incapable of making a good uniform. I also think NIke getting the NFL will have a big impact on things. Why you make fun of me? pcgd
Adidas has about 70+ schools that wear their uniforms (some sports, not all) obviously Nike has a ton (don't know the exact number but it's even higher than your list) but those 60 aren't all gonna flip to Nike. Some will but adidas will pick up some and so will UA.More likely, Nike will lose some schools due to the NFL deal because of divided focus. Their top tier for football was college for 12 years, now they have slightly bigger fish to fry. They own US sports and will continue to dominate but the trend will see more schools go to other companies. Nike will still be #1 but the gap will shrink.
