Los Angeles Clippers vs. Clipper Darrell

I'm not saying Sterling's a good man. He may very well be a scumbag. He does, however, own the rights to the Clippers' name and logo. And the team he owns offered this Darrell fellow a position within the team. So not only does the team have the upper hand legally they seem to have the upper hand morally too. They tried the conciliatory route first.

And I'm just saying I don't care. If its Donald Sterling screw him plain and simple. If for nothing else to try to make up for all the times he screwed over other people that we don't know about.

The guy got paid pretty well for six or seven years, then quit. How did the Lakers screw him over again?

They paid him pocket change, reluctantly gave him a raise only when the Clippers offered him more money, then basically treated him like crap for the remainder.

You have to admit the "relunctantly" part is pure heresay. The Lakers might disagree with that assessment.

They gave him six times what Lakers girls were making. The Lakers knew the fans were there to watch basketball, not Dancing Barry. And a $8,000 salary ($200x40) for five or six months of work in sports in the 80s wasn't bad money, not to mention he probably got free tickets, meals, and parking.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

The legal system, for better or worse, doesn't care about how personally detestable a person may be. If a person's been wronged, and Sterling has been wronged, he's going to find justice.

You're free to believe whatever you want, as long as you recognize that the law's going to have to side with him.

This is a choice quote from Plaschke's article:

Bailey, who did not return phone calls for this story, reportedly felt like this attempt at control was too stifling. So last week in a phone call with Lahr, he offered to stop being Clipper Darrell. Lahr told him that might be a good idea, but that he should think about it. Bailey never phoned back, and then Wednesday afternoon issued the statement on his website, stunning a Clippers organization that thought he was being treated fairly.

Sounds like the Clippers were blindsided by Clipper Darrell... this might explain the emotion and anger behind their statement.
