  1. This was announced at the same time as the Heinz Field game. This is just a confirmation of the date and time. State College is a dump, it's good that they aren't playing the game there And don't give me "oh we should move on" about Penn State, no one there learned anything. The 409 truthers are still as loud as ever.

  2. The West Point game would almost certainly involve the Golden Knights, Panthers, or both.

  3. The final week of the 1999 NFL regular season (played January 3, 2000) featured the lone matchup between the 'huge-shoulder' Flying Elvis Patriots and the current 'raven head' helmet Ravens (although the team changed its jersey sleeve patches the next year).

  4. I don't think playing at State College makes a lot of sense. It's one of those compromise deals where everybody loses. I look at State College as being Western PA (basically, everything that's not the Delaware or Lehigh Valley might as well be western PA) so it's not like there's a lot of Flyers fans there, other than maybe the students from the Phila area. You're just making Flyers fans drive 4 hours west, and Penguins fans drive a few East, rather than having one of the fan bases stay put.

  5. And at a certain point you have to move past what those in the past did. The school president, AD and head coach who were all involved in covering for Sandusky are no longer in their positions. In fact, their current AD is Timothy Curley's successor's successor. Same for President Spanier. They're on their second school president following Spanier. Their current president was a former professor at Penn State but there's no indication whatsoever that there was any connection between him and Sandusky's crime. Their current athletic director had no connection to the university up until she took the position in 2014. There's no point in attacking innocent people when those responsible for covering for Sandusky have been named, shamed and, in the case of Spanier and Curley, charged and convicted.

  6. I hate Penn State as much as anyone, but the Flyers and Penguins could use their facility for a one-off without it constituting an endorsement of child rape.

  7. I love that poster style. I wish Metra would do stuff like that for their lines but their aesthetic never left 1994 desktop publishing.
