South Carolina vs. Gonzaga. One of these schools is going to the dang national championship game. ?

Definitely the early game.

Gamecocks need to thank North Carolina HB2 for gifting them defacto home games in Greenville as opposed to play Duke in Charlotte. UNC fans in the house were always going to cheer against Duke in that sub regional, but home fans helped them.

Hell freezes over if the final is Gonzaga-Oregon. Would love to see the West Coast get that kinda love, but ZERO chance.

That would be pretty cool.

But, South Carolina vs North Carolina wouldn't be too bad.

Now now watch it be Kentucky smashing through the rest of the field.

I would have to disagree, Duke has played in many hostile environments, they were outplayed. Plus UNC played in Greenville with Duke fans cheering against them they didn't have any problems advancing in the tournament

Two first timers and a first appearance in decades is just asking for UNC or Kentucky to spoil and mow all over it. I do hope though that any of the other three do get by. I especially want to see South Carolina/Oregon just for the sheer LOLWUT factor it'd have.

Much more UNC fans than Duke.

Looks like there's no Team Stream this year.  That sucks.  Anything to not have to sit through a Jim Nantz call....

There's always Westwood One radio with Kevin Klugler, Clark Kellog, and "Big" John Thompson.

This is EXACTLY how I feel. South Carolina vs Oregon would be awesome, but everyone already knows it's gonna be North Carolina bending over Gonzaga.

Its kinda all riding on Oregon right now to make this something new. They lose (or get killed, as I kind of expect them to), it's gonna be same ol same.

Oregon on Monday night and I'd likely just watch rasslin'.

Most of the nation wants big brands too and two west coast teams is a CBS nightmare. They'd so rather have TBS air such a title game.

While they've won the CWS two times, historically out of all Power 5 schools, is there any more "meh" ----> disappointing public university athletic program (especially the big two) than South Carolina?

I guess Rutgers, Texas Tech, possibly BC are in the running.

While they were a football independent inbetween the ACC and SEC membership, they only won the ACC once and never have won the SEC titke.

South Carolina learned that it takes bringing in a "name" coach, and spending money to do so, tends to lead to success more than going the cheap route.  They were a huge tire fire in football until they paid up and brought in Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier.  (The jury's still out on Boom, but I think SC will be nothing more than middle-of-the-road with Muschamp.)  They could have gone the cheap option in basketball like before, but instead paid up to get Martin, and it's paid off in a Final Four appearance.

Which makes me frustrated again about Georgia....they've been spinning in circles ever since Tubby left.  The one coach they paid up for, Harrick, won them games but then also put a black eye on the program, and the AD would rather have a clean program than one that routinely makes the tournament.  The state has all this talent.  Georgia needs a "name" that excites the fan base and keeps the local recruits in-state.

It's time to get rid of Fox.  Why?  If you want to know whether to keep a coach or not...especially in college athletics, I've long said, "Listen to what the rival coaches are saying".  Saban would praise Richt every chance he got the last few years because he knew as long as Richt was in Athens, he wouldn't have to worry about Georgia being in their way.  Calipari went to bat for Mark Fox a couple of times this season, saying how great a coach he is and this-and-that.  Calipari knows Georgia is a program waiting to explode and become a force if the right coach ever got there, so he's going to speak highly of Fox whenever the chance comes so that Georgia stays where they are.

National TV ratings are the absolute last thing I care about when it comes to sports. Why would I give two :censored:s if CBS breaks a 5 or a 6 or whatever the hell numer they use?
