If they were to up and leave they'd be pulling a Raiders by sticking around for a few years but would be playing in front of 10,000 fans a night if they're lucky. Plus, they have a 20 year/$3 billion TV deal. You're not getting that in Portland. The first two options that @Still MIGHTY laid out are the likely possibilities. Disney is funneling tons of money into this election so I think they're banking on having a much more business-friendly city council to negotiate with, especially with the aftermath of the Downtown Disney hotel cancellation. The sticking point with the Tait regime was that the city wanted more tax revenue from the team through the land value of the parking lots. If the new regime backs off I could see either a renovation/new stadium project on the current site with the tax issue being a city concession.

Plus going back to when everything was happening there were a lot of red flags. You had Hurlbert trying to make a name for himself for one and you also had the accuser running to her friends bragging about it and saying how, amongst other things, she was going to buy herself a koala with the big check she was going to be getting.

I have been looking for this picture for years and I have the context as I actually saw this game when it happened. Griffey was wearing a Jim Edmonds jersey and was covered with bandages to rib on Edmonds' plethora of injuries.

If you are circumventing a suspension/ban you have already committed a community offense such as, say, insisting on discussing politics or Native American imagery. It’s not so much that it’s worse so much as it’s a a trigger when someone has already done enough to warrant a punishment.

If you create a dupe account solely to circumvent a suspension/ban you are showing blatant disregard for the policies of this community. That's why it's a bannable offense.
