  1. Just imagine black facemask, though it doesn't look bad with a gold facemask.
  2. The Angels' 50th anniversary caps were pretty awesome with the gold halo (and it looked good on the jersey too). My wishlist for the Angels, which echoes many on here: Change the halo to gold Have one sleeve patch that is neither the roundel nor just the hat logo (the LAFC or Angel City FC logos seemingly provide good inspiration for a new alternate for the Halos) Have a navy blue Friday (or Sunday) alt cap Maybe something will happen next year with new ownership.
  3. Well really we passed that threshold about 30 years ago. Russell MLB jerseys had maker's marks in team colors in the 90s. CCM hockey jerseys had CCM logos in team colors on authentics in the early 90s, and finally on replica jerseys in the mid 90s (as CCM upgraded from AirKnit to 550 model). Nike football jerseys had makers' marks in team colors (as did adidas in the late 90s). Starter's mark on white Dolphins jersey was aqua from 97-98; and in the 2000s, all Reebok logos were in team colors on the sleeves. These days most people on here complain about the Colts' black swooshes on the jerseys instead of having it be white or blue (though Nike likely made it black to tie in to the Colts' found-again black shoes tradition). The Broncos in the 90s looked far better with blue swooshes than say black or white or heaven forbid, volt. The team-matching swoosh looks far less jarring than Nike's own pick of color.
  4. Literally every NBA and NHL jersey looks better when the ad tries to match with the jersey colors. The worst ads stick out like sore thumbs. The less the NE sticks out on a MLB hat the better, and the only way that happens is if it matches colors on the hat. When Russell Athletic made baseball jerseys in the 90s, I always enjoyed how the R on the sleeve tied to the team’s colors on the authentic jerseys (Marlins had a teal R outlined in black that really worked). Majestic did the same thing. The replica jerseys always had the R in red/white/blue for all teams and it really stood out and looked awful.
  5. Bills are probable/up in the air for 90s throwbacks. Same with the Vikings with either gray or purple mask. Cardinals and Dolphins rumors were certainly strong if not confirmed. I could see Broncos 90s throwbacks coming in 2023 and then kept when a new full set is unveiled for 2024 (similar to what the Falcons did). That’s just wild speculation though. Hoping the Saints drop the black helmet and introduce brassy gold helmet.
  6. Smooth out the angles (looks dated IMO, like the U of Cincinnati logo below from the 70s); Maybe make the curved parts of the D and C rounded like the ends of the hockey rink. The Nats' old DC did this, but the insides of the letters were more squared off. With your wider logo, I think it'd look even better.
  7. They could also do what Navy does (six stripes for the six fleets for the Mids) and still say they're supposed to be guitar strings. Another option would be to have these six thin stripes be vertical, stopping at the seam, with three light gray and three dark gray as a combination of guitar stripes and regular Titans' yokes that are supposed to be beveled. Titans could also do a helmet stripe like this lol
  8. Big fan of Kentucky’s 92-93 throwbacks being worn tonight against LSU…I loved that team with Ford and Mashburn.
  9. Just bought NHL 23 on sale, and in the team select screen, Edmonton’s RR 2.0 choice has royal blue helmets and gloves with the navy jersey and breezers. The Ducks have all sorts of tiny issues (varying crest heights of current alternate and RR, plus 90s jerseys have crests and shoulder patches that are way too big).
  10. This will be the first Classic at a stadium with a retractable roof, right? If the weather is heavy rain...do they close the roof? (nm - roof will be partially closed if it rains, per Seattle Times article)
  11. Agree about the event becoming stale if it's rotated around the same four or five teams...but the Bruins are having amazing success this year. I don't think the league or TNT were upset the best team in the league was hosting the game.
  12. Is it me or is the black and white version in the corner different than the other two WB logos? The right half of the W has a deeper V-cut (apologize for horrible/likely-inaccurate terminology here)
  13. Based on that statement, I wonder if the Broncos’ changes are for 2024 or 2025.
  14. Maybe...but I think it'll stay in the holding area that also keeps the Mooterus from coming back. That Goathead-era unis came back three times (RR 1.0, RR 2.0, Alt Classic) tells me the the slug is way on the bottom of the hierarchy.
  15. Time to bring back The Best Damn Sports Show, Period.
  16. If the Buffaslug came back to the ice, everyone would complain. No one’s really complained about the Screagle. The Screagle is pretty popular. It sells well time and time again. It’s not really close to being as bad as the slug…it’s not some amorphous blob. Think of it like Boston’s meth bear...a wildly popular logo that is uniquely associated with a team although it may not be the most technically sound logo. This is a league whose fans love spaghetti skates and igloos.
  17. I doubt the Caps ever go away from red and navy. The hockey culture in DC is very much "Rock the Red"...it's been a ubiquitous theme around the arena for the last 15 years. If they ever do change home and aways, I think it would likely be around the RR 1.0 look.
  18. It'd be interesting if the Rockies switched to black pinstripes at home with purple numbers outlined in silver. Maybe it'd be a lateral move, and maybe it wouldn't make too much of a difference for night games, but probably a welcome change...kind of a "hey, that's a solid update".
  19. Wordmarks are non-directional though, which is why they look better under the collar. Having the jaguars on the sleeves was smart because they faced forward.
  20. Modern NFL logos in the endzones with throwback AFC logos is a weird combo. Way better than regular endzones though.
  21. I’ve always thought the Ravens look best in purple jerseys and black pants, but man the black jersey/purple pants look is really good. The Bears always look great in cold weather home games. I’m enjoying so many frigid games today…one of the best weekends in the NFL
  22. Those one or two people the NFL hires probably like black and white. Then what? What if they hire the person that’s currently picking the Jags unis? Why would the NFL hire those people instead of individual teams? You’re assuming every football fan has the exact same taste. If the NFL sent out a memo that said teams must wear non-black primaries as much as possible, they wouldn’t need league employees.
  23. Nike's no stranger to Futura. Nike's all-caps logo is Futura Italics Nike's "XXXX KNOWS" design uses standard Futura (possibly Futura Bold).
