  1. I always preferred the Manitoba Moose's old logo design over the newer one (ESPECIALLY over its newer recolored form):
  2. If they're not the Moose, I would LOVE for them to be the Winnipeg Wingmen...they got the Jets' backs.
  3. I actually LOVE these logos and look forward to rockin' them on apparel and merchandise! There...now you can say I'm the first guy to say I like these logos here in the Unpopular Opinions post.
  4. FWIW, the Bulldogs will be keeping their logo and color scheme for 2015-16 in the OHL...afterwards, it might be changing.
  5. Back to the topic of the Pirates affiliating with the Panthers...rumors continue to abound that the Panthers might be headed to Quebec City soon. If so, the Pirates will make the PERFECT affiliate for the new Nordiques...
  6. Mhm...they picked Yard Goats over Hedgehogs. I am a man of my word; I will join in your riot.
  7. It has been said that the CHL leagues (OHL, QMJHL and WHL) are second only to the NHL in quality of play...I trust Flint will embrace their Firebirds wholeheartedly. As for Plymouth, wonder what the news is on the USNTDP team in the USHL moving there from Ann Arbor?
  8. Nope...the Pats are staying put. In other news, I just found out that the Manchester Monarchs will officially be keeping their same logo and colors in the ECHL. Have we heard whether the Admirals are keeping the same look when they move down? I messaged them on Facebook, and they have confirmed that yes, the logo and colors will stay the same. There will also be a new third jersey for them.
  9. Nope...the Pats are staying put. In other news, I just found out that the Manchester Monarchs will officially be keeping their same logo and colors in the ECHL.
  10. OK, if they pick the Yard Goats, THEN I will join you in the riot.
  11. I hope it's the Hedgehogs...nice, fun tie-in to the city's insurance history, plus the logo will be AMAZING! Also, the story of Huck Finn took place in Missouri, not Connecticut.
  12. Called the team...apparently, they did a pre-contest among some local folks, and these six names were the top entered, apparently (Also they didn't feel like paying however much Merritt Paulson would charge for them to be the Beavers).
  13. I'm surprised they retired his number before Glenn Robinson's #13...I think the Big Dog did a LOT more for the franchise and its culture.
  14. Apparently, the Bulldogs and Habs are not confirming or denying these reports. 9 times out of 10 that means it's gonna happen...
  15. Call me crazy, but again, I don't mind the list of finalists...I like Brandiose's style. If this campaign means we don't get the Hedgehogs, I'm seriously gonna be unhappy.
  16. If the old Casper Ghosts could make a deal with Classic Media (owner of Harvey) for usage of the obvious character...could we see the Huckleberries make a deal with Warner Bros./Hanna-Barbera?
  17. I actually would really like to see a hedgehog swinging a bat...these kinds of logos are done a lot, but they're timeless and appeal to EVERY age. (Just like every college used to have an alternate logo of their mascot wearing a sailor hat). Besides, hedgehogs are so cute that any merch featuring them WILL SELL.
  18. The Honey Badgers fad will fade...Hedgehogs are cute now and will be cute forever.
  19. The first Admirals game I ever went to (back in '94) was against the San Diego Gulls. THIS is why I hope the Cali teams will play some games against other divisions in their conference...so I can relive the memories again!
  20. And the WV Black Bears are STILL stalling on giving us even an unveiling date for their visual identity...
  21. Naturally, what comes to mind when I think "unused logos" and "NFL" is what Hall of Famer-elect Ron Wolf was proposing when he first took over as the Pack's GM; namely, switching from Packer gold to old gold and/or green back to navy blue. Of course, because of massive fan outcry Wolf quickly relented and the Green and Gold are here to stay (after all, the city is "Green" Bay). Still, it would've been fun to see what either one of these combos might have looked like just once on the field...
  22. It's official...the Jr. Gulls confirmed that they'll be the San Diego Sabers next season. So, there goes the last roadblock to the AHL team being the Gulls.
  23. *observes moment of silence for one of my favorite AHL punchlines (the league having two teams called "Admirals," which led to many a funny joke)*
  24. OKC's not "folding" per se...they're moving to Bakersfield.
  25. "Tiburones"? That's a Latino Heritage Night jersey pick...works for a minor league affiliate, just not one in the same EXACT CITY. (although I would like to see the CaL's San Jose team change their nickname to the "Gigantes")
