  1. no more NFL Europe teams, just the two. The last three will be London, Cardiff, and Coventry! Kind of thought in this universe that it competes with the ELF, or else i'd have had a paris team.
  2. Merseyside Shipwrights Boxed myself into a corner naming this Liverpool team after a profession, but I guess the Steelers fall into line too. A shipwright is a person that builds ships. Liverpool, or the greater area Merseyside, is known for that. Easy peasy. I made an M logo with a ship crashing through waves in the negative space at the top of the letter. I made it asymmetric because it began to look like a bird with two symmetrical sides. The colors were something I was excited to use. It's kind of Dolphins-y, but a darker shade of green to match a few ships I found online. The rust orange color comes from the paint on the bottom half of a sea liner ship. The uniforms are the most modern in this series, taking cues from the Dolphins and Falcons. The pants are interchangable so long the orange side stripe matches.
  3. banger, absolutely love that one
  4. I appreciate it, I mean't no harm. Block font is the most digestible font for a football uniform, and it feels like it's both simple and timeless. I counted 4 of the 15 finished concepts using them, and it mostly comes down to the font I used on the actual concept. You'll see the second London team soon, and I had a modified version of the font I used but it just didn't look as good as reliable ol' block. I haven't played it, but there's a game called Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2024 that looks serviceable and modable from the youtube videos i've watched. Think i'll post Liverpool's team later today
  5. It's a block font, don't worry about it so much.
  6. If we're extrapolating out a few years, would be shocked if the first two expansion territories aren't the Star and the Vikings facility that they played at a bunch. Also, apparently, they're still doing a touring model next season, just in the markets picked - but the teams will lean into home cities and act as the home team when they come to town.
  7. For what it's worth: "whip" is a lacrosse term, whipsnake is a kind of snake, and they have a LOT of former Terps on their team so they were always considered the team of Maryland. Also it's the state flag in a roundel, neither is necessarily groundbreaking.
  8. Not that I've seen, but based on where the PLL has been a few times - Charlotte would be where Chaos play, and Baltimore would be where the Whipsnakes play. Fwiw i've heard Irvine for the Redwoods, probably at Championship Soccer Stadium
  9. Idk man, this is the PLL. They've spent 5 years building a brand that fits their identity as a league. Moving teams into markets only to wipe their identity seems counter productive. Hell, the move should've been expanding to 10 and putting the Bayhawks and Lizards back, but you can't really be a pro lacrosse league without those two markets.
  10. The PLL announced today the cities that each team will play in after 5 seasons of a touring model that saw the league play weekends in various lacrosse markets. Each team had at minimum a minor brand change, with only one team completely rebranding to better fit their market. Below is the new primary logos & alternate logos Boston Cannons California Redwoods Carolina Chaos Denver Outlaws (formerly Chrome) Maryland Whipsnakes New York Atlas Philadelphia Waterdogs Utah Archers
  11. Yep I have a few things that show everything! I also might get a football manager game and build this as a sim league when it's done.
  12. Leeds Gallants Leeds was an obvious choice for this project, but I gave them a more abstract name for me to figure out branding later. I felt like Knights would be too generic, but a team with Knight imagery would fit in perfectly. After invisioning a completely different concept that involved a banner and horse, I ended up drawing a suit of armor torso in a menacing style, lit up by color highlights. Originally, this concept was a play on claret and blue, but after I tweeted it, I got suggested making it closer to Leeds' usual color palette of blue and yellow. The uniforms are pretty simple compared to others. If you think about it, not every team has a striping pattern or design. Very college feeling on this one. But I thought the three main colors were emphasized enough to stand out without any flashy designs.
  13. Sorry for the break, I was in Mexico for work and wanted to fill up my back log before I started posting again. Amsterdam Admirals I wanted to keep these guys because the Netherlands and England do have a lot of direct flights, and this would expand the league's footprint to a major market on mainland Europe. One of the two legacy teams in this project. I always felt like they had a really strong brand, but looking again, there wasn't too much I wanted to keep from their original set. What I did keep was the anchor from the crest, and the three X's from the Amsterdam flag. I felt like those were two strong things to build around, plus adding an A since the name is an illiteration. The uniforms are simpler than they ever had been. I knew I wanted to make a stripe design with the three X's that would fit cleanly and be representative of the city. It was just a matter of mixing in orange, navy, and white in the same pattern.
  14. Not to double post, but there's two things I wanted to share that are unrelated. This next one is the Premier Lacrosse League that posted original concepts of their original 6 teams, which can be seen here. I think more often than not, they went in a direction better than the concept. Although the thin lines on Atlas and Redwoods look pretty sweet. and as a bonus, here's the original team name concepts before they landed on Whipsnakes
  15. Another Todd Radom special, this time the Texas Rangers
  16. loveeeee those. The main uniforms fit the hockey aesthetic, and retro looking jersey is so timeless looking.
  17. A few really good brands here, but absolutely love the sleeve designs on St. Louis
  18. Sometimes you gotta play the hits Dublin Harps This name was a placeholder for a long time, and up until a week before I made this logo, I was consider changing it. But I thought of a logo that I really needed to sink my teeth into. I don't think i'm that good at script logos, but wanted to test myself. I made a cursive script for the Harps with an r being in the shape of a harp. Simple, although not subtle. The logo also allowed me to cross another football trope off the list in this league, a script helmet. The uniforms were inspired by the Eagles kelly green, but differ in a few ways. I did a consistent three stripe pattern on the pants and helmet, but wanted to make a shoulder stripe. I made a design replicating harp strings that loop around to the back. The bumper on the helmet has the saying "ní neart go cur le chéile", which translates to 'there's no strength without unity" which sounds so football-y.
  19. I think there's a few of these with 3+ pants options that I left off for the template. i'll post Dublin's team tomorrow, probably my favorite thus far
  20. that raiders logo is so sharp, I love the lighting and sharp angles. There's a lot of bad logos in the RFL Championship, so i'm excited to see where you take them
  21. Leicester Wolfpack Crossing another team off the generic team name list. Leicester City is the foxes, and nearby Wolverhampton is the Wolves. I wanted to use the Wolfpack name, but make them super different from the others. I went with a Washington State inspired color palate. The logo is a fierce modern wolf that has a second wolf in the negative space, inspired by Hofstra's double Lion logo. The pupil on the eye of the logo has cinquefoil to reference back to Leicestershire County. The uniforms have basic sleeve stripes and two spikes on the chest for a modern look, paired with some sharp angles on the pants to the same striping.
  22. they shouldve went double cursed conference-helmet endzone in 2022
  23. @timberwolf DM me ^^ Brighton Waves This team was a layup name that I figured I could brand, but really felt the name was bland. I was open to changing it up until I really started working. Originally, I had planned an Orlando Magic color scheme, including black into blue and silver. It felt very muddled down and you can tell from my tone in the tweet that I knew there was something but I couldn't figure out what. Turns out, some inspiration came from watching my Bucs get torn apart by the Detroit Lions. I dropped the black for a cleaner look. I hand drew a wave to fill the bottom half of the B. I also put a W in the foam of the wave, just so you can remember the team name! The uniforms are Lions inspired as well, but also mimic the New Orleans breakers helmets since they're so cool. This is my girlfriend's favorite helmet, so you better all like it! I didn't overthink the striping, just use white and silver where I could.
