  1. Anyone recognize the font used on Orioles? I feel like this should be simple but I can't figure it out for the life of me.
  2. Chrome LC - Primary Uniforms - Chrome is stuck between two identities. On one hand, you have the knight logo which lends well to the chrome nickname, but on the other hand you have a really fun 80's palette of colors that wins solely on the uniqueness factor. Helmet - Chrome domes (anything else would have been foolish) with the knighthead on the sides. The wings move to the mohawks on the top of the helmet. Jersey - I really emphasized the "vaporwave" aesthetic the bright pink and blue create, leaning into a gradient stripe on the chest of the jerseys. Similar to the Cannons, repeating lines coming off the stripe. High contrast black numbers on both uniforms. Shorts - Pretty much the same thing on the shorts just cut in half, with the stripe beginning on the bottoms of the shorts. Chrome LC - Clash Uniform & Practice Pinnies: Clash Uniforms - Black from head to shorts. A black chrome helmet, same style as the primary helmet. The stripes from the primary uniforms become the holders of the gradient on both the jersey and the shorts. Practice Pinnies - A simple chrome pattern. C&C welcome! The practice jerseys are basically the same thing as a practice basketball jersey so sure?
  3. For me at least, as a journeyman NBA fan as Seattle is still without a team, watching the Jazz rebrand to colors with no history with the team, seeming crapping on everything the team has built in the last few seasons, I can see how fans would be upset with what is apparently coming and want to renounce their fan-ship(?) Idk, but to me it feels like the owner is crapping on everything that the Jazz tried to build on.
  4. Neat concept but :censored:, thats gaudy as hell.
  5. I promise I haven't forgotten about this: Anaheim Ducks - 2003-2006 - I don't think many expected to ever see Wild Wing again, which was cool, but I definitely wanted to see a different uniform take a spin for the Ducks. The black uniform (which in retrospect seems very much like a trial run for the current identity), goes green, well jade if we're being technical. The only real deviation is using the striped pants from the sets before the black jersey. Anaheim Ducks - Mighty Ducks - In a slightly different take, we get a uniform that feels like something we should have seen already. The iconic Mighty Ducks uniforms also go jade, basically trading places with the eggplant Calgary Flames - 1995-1998 - I really like the Pedestal jerseys, and I really like them in black, which is what you see here. In their quirky late 90's way, the Pedestal jerseys return to the ice, this time on a black base with red serving as secondary. Edmonton Oilers - WHA 1972-1973 - I had previously flipped the McFarlane alternates in my NHL series, so for this series I went back even further, back to the Alberta Oilers day. Everyone seemed to enjoy seeing the Oilers wear them in orange, so the WHA uniforms go blue from head to toe. Orange pants were considered, but ultimately rejected in the end. Los Angeles Kings - 1967-1968 - The Kings take their first uniform set and give it the Raiders treatment Jack Kent Cooke and his Forum Blue dribble away and the Kings go for the black and silver. C&C appreciated!
  6. Chaos LC - Primary Uniforms - They might not be as mainstream, but these have to rank in the craziest uniforms in sports history. The perfect uniforms to capture their name, the Chaos keep their wild identity intact. The Chaos are also my favorite team in the league, so it was pretty wild when during the playoffs last season, I was cheering them on when they defeated the Archers in Salt Lake, which has a large contingent of Archers fans (though I got to meet Grant Ament [player for the Archers]'s parents during the game so that was wild). Helmet - The white helmet is retired for Chaos, leaving just the chrome red helmet as the main helmet in the rotation Jerseys - Ah the jerseys. The split jersey stays on pretty much as is, though it does offer us our first look at the champions tag on the back collar of the uniforms. The white jersey uses the same pattern with shades of grey and white. Shorts - The shorts now use a portion of the jersey pattern, subtly on one side of the shorts. Chaos LC - Clash Uniforms & Practice Pinnies: Clash - Having used both main colors on one uniform, it really does provide an issue when an alternate uniform is brought up, but in this case, we just darken the greyscale. White is largely eliminated, using a light shade of grey when needed. The pattern on the jersey is reversed from the primary uniforms. The shadow on the cuts of the jersey pattern are now visible in red on the front and back of the uniform. Same also goes for the shorts, which now have the pattern on the opposite side Practice Pinnies - If anything about these uniforms can be simple, then it must be the practice tops, which use the same pattern as everything else, just in one color. C&C welcome!
  7. Filled in the cannon blasts around the wordmark, which did help immensely with the overall balance of the jersey
  8. Cannons LC - Primary Uniforms - A founding institution of the MLL turned youngest member of the PLL. And possibly the most well known of the MLL teams that there were(?) idk, we can possibly debate that one. Anyways as for the uniforms. The current uniforms aren't bad but the smoke pattern to me just falls flat on the navy jersey. Helmets - The iconic silver helmet sticks around, even with the team just having unveiled a pretty slick white helmet, along with the existing navy helmet. Jerseys - The smoke clears up, with the team logo on the chest, and the cannon blasts now serving as the sleeve decoration. Shorts - The cannon blasts sit on one side of the shorts with the number facing it on the opposite leg. Cannons LC - Clash Uniform & Practice Pinnies - The clash uniforms stay pretty similar to the main uniforms with a few differences. The logo goes away on the chest, replaced by just the Cannons wordmark, with the cannon blasts on top and bottom of the wordmark. Coming off the blasts are a series of lines that serve as sort of "pinstripes" up the body of the jersey, and same on the sleeves. I left the shorts plain white so they can mix in with the rest of the uniforms. The smoke that I talked junk about on the current jerseys does stick around, just relegated to the practice jerseys. C&C welcome! I could mess with the jersey stripes but when I mess with the balance of the stripes on the cream helmet, the horn becomes almost impossible to see. And yes, Champion has become the on-field sponsor of the league, but at the moment it's not influencing anything here.
  9. Atlas LC - Primary Uniforms - Atlas has my second or third favorite identity in the PLL. The colors and logos I love but that didn't mean they were immune to change. For me, I felt like the team could remove white entirely and go with the cream color as their light color. And so that's what we did. The next big thing was making the topographic pattern more visible, but it fades from top down, making the pattern more visible at the bottom. The stripes on the sleeves mirror the color balance of the horn on the helmet. The shorts horn moves from the bottom of the shorts up the sides. Atlas LC - Clash Uniform & Practice Pinnies - For the longest time, so 3 years, I thought the dark color for Atlas was navy blue but it's more akin to "navy purple". Same design as their other two uniforms, this time using the dark purple color. The chest design changes to just the bull logo, with the number up in between the horns. The pinnies take the topographic pattern and make it very visible. C&C welcome! So I'm not using the steel blue because of what I have coming down the pipeline. I have a couple ideas on some other arrow inspired motifs but I'm not sold on them. They came off as a little too kitschy to me.
  10. Lacrosse doesn't get a whole lot of attention here or in the sports world at large, and it's really not hard to see why. It's a bit of a niche sport and just wasn't covered the same way. And then the PLL came on the scene. They've given the sport a lot more exposure, both on the field by not tying teams to cities in the early going, and having a tremendous social media presence and now, having a pretty solid deal with ESPN, they're set pretty well for the future. But you're here to see some concepts. Going alphabetical, no need to get weird with just 8 teams: Referees - I don't normally make a habit of designing what the officials wear, but I felt like shaking things up a little. For the officials, we went with two options. A yellow option with black stripes and an inverse black version with yellow stripes. With an emphasis on color jerseys, the two options give the most opportunity to stand out from the players on the field. Also, the hats serve in the same function as the orange stripes on an NHL official. While any lax ref can throw a flag, the head ref communicates it to the table, signified by the yellow hat. ARCHERS LC - Primary Uniforms - Another thing I wanted to go with on this series is emphasis on color. There's enough color variance in my opinion that makes this work. So for the Archers, I really didn't deviate from their existing look. Kept the navy and white helmets, with a similar stripe style, this time using the arrow from their logo. On the jerseys, the logo breaks free of the shield on the chest. While the logo uses Copperplate as a font, I refuse to use it as a number font on a sports uniform, but kept the drop shadowed style. The shorts change the most, with the stripes moving from the side to the bottom of one of the legs. ARCHERS LC - Clash Uniform & Practice Pinnies - While there is a lot of color variance in the current PLL, inevitably there would be some matchups where Color vs Color would not work. With that in mind, every team will have a clash uniform, likely in most cases that will end up being white, but not every time. Also, while the PLL has gotten away from the collegiate style uniforms, the clash uniform will serve as a chance to do something different on the chest, which in the Archers' case ... ends up being a college style jersey.. The practice jerseys take the split color of the arrow in the logo and blow it up over the whole jersey, with each one being split down the middle. C&C welcome!
  11. Love the work so far! Tulane & Memphis have to be my favorites so far. I love the simplicity for the Green Wave, though I do echo some of the previous comments and think some level of wave-style stripes would make it even better.
  12. This would be a good logo to keep around. Not sold on the CO font but that would be an easy tweak.
  13. Minnesota Wild - 2003-2007 - I always liked this Wild uniform and wished it hadn't gotten bastardized when Reebok took over In keeping with the current theme for the Wild, the North Stars colors take over again. Nashville Predators - 2001-2004 - I view the Reverse Retro thing as a second chance of sorts for uniforms, and this uniform could use a second chance. Took the much-maligned mustard alternate the Preds wore for 3 seasons and gave it a white base with the current shades of navy and gold. St. Louis Blues - 1995-1997 - Didn't deviate too far for the Blues, just switched a couple colors. Kept the same Reverse Retro, this time kicking red to the curb and going with navy as the base. Winnipeg Jets - WHA Jets - In the biggest change from real life, the second iteration of the Jets look back to the first iteration of the Jets for inspiration. The inaugural uniforms the Jets (the ones that are now the Coyotes) wore go red while their pants go blue. Included for the added pizzazz, the contrasting nameplate that came with the uniform. C&C welcome!
  14. ... i have no idea what you're talking about ...
  15. After watching game 2, I realized another thing that infuriates me about the Lightning besides the fact they keep winning: The primary logo is contained within this Incredibles-esque oval shape, But their shoulder logo bolt is contained within a perfect circle.
  16. We enter the Western Conference of a league for the final time this series: Arizona Coyotes - WHA Phoenix Roadrunners - With their deep uniform history already ran through, I went outside the Coyotes history and to Arizona's hockey history The Roadrunners of the WHA skate on once again, this time in a uniform bearing a Coyote on the chest, and on a sand uniform with brick and black stripes. Chicago Blackhawks - 1956-1957 - I see why the Blackhawks gave us the RR they did. It really wasn't super easy picking a good uniform to flip. While it does resemble their old black alternates, this RR features the old Indian head, with the era appropriate C-Tomahawks on the sleeves. Colorado Avalanche - 1999-2001 - The Avs have slowly tweaked and tweaked these uniforms but haven't given us one thing with them: a blue version. Like I said, blue version of the Avalanche's long time uniform style. Dallas Stars - 1997-1999 - In a similar vein to Colorado, Dallas gives us a different color of a well liked uniform, at least from my own opinion on the matter. A victory green version of the transitory uniforms from the franchise's move from Minnesota. C&C Welcome!
  17. Since we're talking about the Heat: These are better than the championship uniforms.
  18. Probably a little more subtle than you're looking for but this was my alternate concept for them.
  19. Getting rid of the gradient in the letters and the beveling would go a long way.
  20. New York Rangers - 1946-1947 - The second half of the Metro starts off on a simpler note, with the Rangers going for a white version of their single season college style uniform. It might be more suited for a Winter Classic, but for the Rangers it felt appropriate. Philadelphia Flyers - 1972-1977 - I'll just come out and say it, I wasn't a huge fan of the Flyers IRL Reverse Retro. So with that, we go back to the early days of Flyers hockey. The Cup-winning uniforms go black, with white and black trading places. Also, the Winged-P logo changes color for only the second time on a uniform in Flyers history. Pittsburgh Penguins - 1967-1968 - gold jerseys seem to be the rage these days in Pittsburgh, so this jersey goes for the gold. The inaugural double blue Pens uniforms switch to black and yellow. Washington Capitals - 1974-1975 - A very different direction than what the Caps actually did. The inaugural Caps uniforms meet up with the 90's Caps colors in this take on the Reverse Retro. C&C welcome!
  21. The first half of the Metro is here: Carolina Hurricanes - Hartford Whalers - This still feels scummy, even if they are the same franchise. But this feels better than just slapping grey on a previously white uniform. The Whale goes blue 20 years sooner than they did in real life with a blue version of the classic green Whalers uniforms. Columbus Blue Jackets - Columbus Chill - In the opposite direction of simplicity, is this creation for the Blue Jackets. I did this jersey in red for the Nike series, so I went with it in navy for this series, but the design is as advertised, wild and perfect for this kind of promotion. New Jersey Devils - The only red jersey they need to wear - I'm not sure these can qualify as a Reverse 'Retro', since they only stopped wearing them 5 years ago. A straight color swap and return to sanity for us here, but a black Devils jersey that feels a decade overdue and one that doesn't go full Rae Dunn on us. New York Islanders - 1978-1984 - If you were looking for the Fishsticks, you can find them here. Sharing them twice might cause the internet to melt. This time for the Isles, I went for the dynasty era uniforms, this time in orange, relegating white to a trim color. Also went for an orange helmet to add something else to the uniqueness factor.
  22. Part 2 of the Atlantic coming up now: Montreal Canadiens - 1935 Maroons - I'm sure this one would not go over super well, but anything w/o a chest stripe for the Habs feels very wrong. Doesn't stop me from trying, but how do you reverse a team that's worn the same uniforms for decades? As a result of researching the Maroons and Canadiens relationship, I didn't know that the famous Forum was built for the Maroons, not the Canadiens. But as for the uniform, a white jersey with blue and red stripes on the sleeves and hem. Block C&H logo done in the style of the Maroons M logo. Ottawa Senators - 2000-2007 - With the Senators having already gone back to the day one jerseys, we go back to the day two jerseys. The sweeping stripes jersey goes black with red becoming the primary stripe color Tampa Bay Lightning - EHL Jacksonville/FL Rockets - Another holdover from my NHL Nike Series, the Bolts flip the old Rockets uniforms to suit their needs Red and blue go away for black and blue. Florida becomes Tampa Bay on the chest with the stars surrounding the words becoming little bolts. Toronto Maple Leafs - St. Pats - This one was a little goofy, but I had the idea and had to at least try it. The white and green goes back to blue and white, with the St Pats font lending itself to to the Maple Leafs wordmark. Some interesting choices I went with here, but let me know what you all think!
  23. https://news.sportslogos.net/2022/04/29/putting-the-blue-in-blue-bombers-winnipeg-cfl-team-unveils-new-alternate-uniforms/football/ I feel like I should hate this. But I don't for some reason.
  24. Alright, the encore to this four-ay, we start where we have for everyone, in the East, in this case, the Atlantic. Boston Bruins - Pooh Bear - If you followed along with my NHL Nike Series, you're likely gonna recognize a few of these uniforms. But all I said was no repeats from what Adidas did, not what I've done in the past. The Pooh Bears get another take on things, this time on a white base. I tried going for a black base with yellow and white cuffs but it just looked too bright and "vibrated" when you looked at them too long. That's as clear as I can make it. Buffalo Sabres - 1987-1996 - Probably the best and most iconic (for good reasons) of all the Sabres uniforms combines with something the Sabres have never had: a good yellow uniforms. An easy color swap of blue and gold resulting in a gold version of the first uniform set the Sabres wore as a franchise Detroit Red Wings - 1927-1928 Cougars - Oh Detroit. Could have done anything other than what we got in reality and it would have been better than the actual uniform. A straight swap of the Cougars uniforms/75th anniversary uniforms that now is red base/white stripes. Again. Anything would have been better than the white/silver disaster we got. Florida Panthers - 2011-2012 Alternate - I said it on the image, but this is one uniform that I thought deserved much better than it got. it's not the biggest reversal we're gonna see in the NHL, but the double blue goes away in favor of the current scheme, which minimizes white in favor of the old gold. C&C welcome!
