  1. These were Shepherd's previous logos. Primarily the weird overlaying SU.
  2. It appears back in October, Shepherd University (D2 school in WV) unveiled a new logo. Shepherd University | New Shepherd Athletics Logo!
  3. The Colorado School of Mines Orediggers will be playing in the Division 2 national championship. I'm rooting for them solely because of their gloriously unique name.
  4. I may tune in to that one. Was always a good game when Maryland played NC State in the ACC from 2001 up to Maryland joined the Big Ten.
  5. So what would a 12 team playoff bracket look like with this season's final CFP rankings?
  6. OT: they need to bring back the apple pie Oreo's that were in stores a few years ago
  7. Didn't realize the site changed last year. Until the post earlier I thought it was still being played in Santa Clara
  8. Is the PAC 12 championship being played on the Raiders' grass field or UNLV's turf field?
  9. I thought the ACC was going to switch from divisions to a pod model where each team has four ACC opponents they play every season, and rotate through the rest of the conference each season? The podmates would generally be long time rivals. For example. North Carolina's pod would likely be NC State, Duke, Wake Forest & Virginia
  10. Possibly an unpopular opinion, but I never understood the hoopla over those old Seahawks uniforms. Those made them the third blue and silver team in the league with some green stripes and an ugly logo. The 2002 unis gave them unique colors and a much needed upgrade on the logo. I understand some people weren't fans of monochrome slate blue becoming their primary look, but even on the rare instances they wore slate blue over white, or white or slate blue it looked significantly better than the silver era uniforms imo
  11. Unlike Red Bull, the Giants and Jets actually played home games in NYC for decades before moving to Jersey. With the exception of 1 US Open Cup match in the late nineties, Red Bull has only played in NYC as visitors at Yankee Stadium.
  12. I thought they would call themselves Metro Red Bulls or Red Bull USA before New Jersey lol
  13. When they first announced the Championship Series was going to be a winter tournament, I assumed it was going to be held some place warm like Florida or California. It's going to be at an indoor sports facility in nearby Springfield, Virginia called The St. James which I never heard of before today.
  14. This was a surprise coming from The Soccer Tournament. You see many college alum teams in The Basketball Tournament, but yet to see a pro team (from anywhere around the world) participate in it. Wonder if any other established soccer clubs will have teams in TST? I doubt any MLS clubs would since they have Next Pro starting up soon and TST will likely run concurrent to that league's season. Club Necaxa - The Basketball Tournament (thetournament.com)
  15. Somebody send this to Jets headquarters ASAP. Put a white facemask on the helmet it's even better.
  16. Not sure how much attention this will get in the grand scheme of things, but 2023 will be the first year of The Soccer Tournament. Unlike The Basketball Tournament which takes place shortly after the NBA season, TST will likely run concurrent to MLS, USL, NISA, etc. The Soccer Tournament - The Basketball Tournament (thetournament.com)
  17. I just hope Austin's primary jerseys are predominantly green going forward.
  18. Let me describe the scene live on ESPNU right now. Alabama A&M vs Mississippi Valley State. MVS in monotone forest green (home team). AAM in monotone maroon (visiting team). Me no like!
  19. Yes it's possible. Ownership of any team can change their name and branding. However I doubt a waiver would be granted to speed up the process. A new owner would have to wait for the Commanders name to reach the 5 year mark before changing it. Safest bet. They WILL NOT go back to the old name. In fact, I'd be willing to bet the league would officially ban teams from having names of ethnic groups before Washington could rebrand again. Likely including wording that would allow the Chiefs and Vikings to keep their names as is.
  20. The practice jerseys have the names on the chest in a way that mimics a military uniform.
  21. Watch and see the mascot ends up being the gawdam dog! Why man? WHYYYYY?!?!? Is the Commanders' front office oblivious to the existence of the Cleveland Browns and their secondary dog identity? This franchise was fortunate enough to have a secondary identity of hogs/pigs ready to go whenever the old name's controversy became too much of a heat magnet to hold on to. Did they go that route when it name was ultimately changed? Nope. Then for the first time in franchise history they decide to have a costumed mascot. Clearly the smart thing would be to unveil a hog mascot. That's what they're going to do right? Maybe. Perhaps. We'll see how the fan vote turns out which included a superhero, a (likely) George Washington figure and of course the dog mentioned before. This whole situation could have been a lot easier than it's ended up being smh Just pick the friggin hog Snyder! Jeez!
  22. How quickly does it take to have a new goal post delivered and installed in mid October?
  23. The bears' orange alternate uniforms are not bad in a general sense. They just don't look like the Chicago bears. The navy blue helmets and socks look way better with the orange jerseys. This sorta looks like an Illinois vs Minnesota Big Ten game
