I like these. They're the forgotten era of Saints unis between the classic look and the current look, but they have style.

Pinging a mod or two would have helped. As a gay guy myself... I see the point. But also? It's something that's still used as a slur in certain circles. And I'm uncomfortable taking it off the filter for that reason.

I'm going to make things very clear to you. You were suspended for weaving tales of bull that were disproven and you go right back to making unsubstantiated claims as soon as your suspension is up. The problem was that they were so clearly the team playing second fiddle to the G-ddamn Nets, New York's second fiddle basketball team. They couldn't even move their full collection of banners into Barclay's because it embarrassed the Nets due to their own lack of success. Everything about it seemed really embarrassing to the NHL, to play catch-up to a NBA team like that. Factor in the terrible experience that was the Barclay's era and... yeah. Best to memory hole that whole era of Isles hockey.

It really does suck. Canada's men's team has been awful for most of my life. They qualified for ONE World Cup, before I was born. And they're getting an automatic bid in 2026. 2022 though... 2022 was something I didn't think I'd ever see. Canada qualifying for the World Cup on their own merits. And it's THIS World Cup. I want to watch, I want to support them, but I just can't. The whole thing feels skeezy. Qatar is a theocratic fascist hellhole and it's disgusting FIFA is enabling their regime. I really want to like these but... there's enough "close but miss" decisions here to ruin it. The cream Twin Cities look isn't working. I actually think the current marks and colour layout would look great with an powder blue base if they wanted to do that for an alternate. But this isn't working. I'd trash the cream alternates. Go with the TC caps across the board. Minnesota logo on the sleeves of the road and navy alternate. Powder blue alternate for home games. M/StP flag logo on the sleeves of the home and powder blue. Single layer sans-serif block font for numbers.

Yeah. I get that "Wild" isn't the best name but it's been twenty-two years. That's the name. And no complaining about the North Stars moving or how they should have been this or that instead is going to change that. They're the Wild. Have been for over twenty years. Accept it and move on.

The NBA's been willing to dip into the ABA. The NFL had a whole anniversary season for the AFL. The NHL hasn't been super eager to jump on the WHA nostalgia though.

I like most of it, but a few things bug me. The first is the custom number font. I really think for something as scaled back and classic looking as this it needs single layer block. The other thing... I really don't like the M cap. The only cap logo the Twins should ever wear is the TC.

That's what I'm saying. There was actually a discussion here years back about how the Fisherman could have been the Islanders' version of the Lady Liberty sweaters if they just dialed back a few elements. This RR seems to be doing that so I dig it as a thought experiment. The one thing I'd have liked to have seen would have been the lighthouse logo on the shoulders. But otherwise it's a pretty good looking sweater.

I like the Islanders' RR as sort of "what if?" if the Islanders' Fisherman had been designed more in like with, say, the Lady Liberty jerseys then following all the 90s trends they did.

The problem is that this is the era where the North Stars transitioned into the identity they'd carry into Dallas. Which gets dicey for the Wild. The North Stars aren't some dead team, they still exist. The Dallas Stars are the North Stars. And while everyone seems ok with the Wild referencing classic North Stars looks, it could get messy if they started infringing on the Stars' identity too much.

I get that. They could have made the base aqua or orange or even black if they wanted to mix it with its own era or others but... the way I see it? The RR look is supposed to be the Fisherman mixed with the classic identity. Or in otherwords "what if the Fisherman was more traditionally styled?" Maybe that's not what people want out of that identity, but I get the intention.

Weren't the Gunslingers notoriously cheap, even by USFL standards? Probably not a brand that the new league is eager to capitalize on.

Is the point to just be a straight throwback, or throwback inspired? None of the RRs are just straight throwbacks. There's some sort of twist. No one should have been expecting a replica of the Fishermen jerseys with no changes.

We saw that in the NHL where every goal got challenged by a coach because MAYBE the puck MAY have left the zone by a millimetre before the goal? Or MAYBE one of the attacking wingers crossed the blue line JUST before the centre with the puck? Officials were Zapruder'ing every zone entry (thanks @the admiral) and it dragged everything to a halt.
