  1. Very bizarre turn of events where, even though there was a year-long hype train to tank for Shane Wright, he fell 3 spots and the Habs took Slafkovsky 1st overall. I don't want to crap on this pick for no reason. But I'm not sold on it (yet) because even though he had a late surge, I thought Shane Wright had more upside being granted exceptional player status at 15 and had far more points, last season. Maybe Slav will end up being better than Shane. Maybe HuGo see things differently, beyond the hype. But this has the potential to make Hughes look like Bergevin 2.0, if this busts...
  2. A 30 year no-move clause for a team that got kicked out of their building and that always struggles financially. What could possibly go wrong?
  3. Not bad at all. I think "Depuis 1993" (which is french for Est. 1993) would have better than just the year by itself.
  4. Just the shield on its own, minus the circle background, could be used as a secondary logo.
  5. Sacre bleu, that is a beautiful logo! I believe there's no more "Foot". CF Montréal now stands for "Club de Football Montréal", according to reports on a Saputo conference that I didn't hear. It's fine because all their main branding is branded as CF for short, in most if not all scripts. That's how they brand soccer, when there's 2 types of football.
  6. Exactly. I know it's ASU's property. A pro team should be able to afford their own property. If this was a temporary arrangement, I get that things happen. The Expos went through this, when they had stadium issues. The problem is that there's no clear future, when it comes to the Coyotes surviving on their own. If their survival depends on a minor league team being nice enough to loan them their high school-sized rink of 5000 seats, maybe....just...maybe it's not a good fit for the NHL.
  7. The NBA & NHL are both major league. I've never seen a minor league team boss around an NHL team and tell them what to do.
  8. Also, apparently the Sun Devils have priority over scheduling. They have final say. After they set their own NCAA schedule, they'll give whatever remaining dates to the Coyotes, who will have to accept.
  9. Shots of the crowd for Laval's minor league playoff game. 10 000 seats for an AHL team. That's double the amount, compared to Arizona.
  10. Exactly. A 2-year paid suspension would have been a 2 year vacation. And now he can't just throw money at his victims, to try to sweep it all under the rug. He won't have as much money as he would, if he was playing.
  11. I asked myself this question many times, when it comes to the OKC Thunder. Just replace the word "rebrand" with logo/uniforms.
  12. They got tired of navy, yellow, and forest green.
  13. The team has an identity crisis. They can't figure out which color scheme to stick to. They just added red and a variety of other shades to their court. I don't see that anymore on the leaks. They're changing colors schemes so often that I've lost track of all their changes. I missed an earlier one. They may have used all the colors in the rainbow, by now.
  14. I tend to agree. I associate the orange and navy with Connor McDavid and the orange and royal with Wayne Gretzky. Royal and orange I think it's fine for the Florida Gators. For the Oilers, I kinda prefer the darker blue, even though I'm convinced it's the unpopular opinion.
  15. I hope it also means matching road with royal blue stripes and not navy.
  16. Could be because the lighter beige color is easier to read. That or they wanted to be different from the Flyers.
  17. So unique and fitting for Canadian Football. Maybe if they have an alternate, it could be used with that. They just gotta fix the outline.
  18. It would have been cool to see the antler helmet get a proper makeover. But at least they finally set themselves apart from the Green Bay Packers. I don't hate this new helmet all that much. They did something right.
  19. Yep. They've always had yellow numbers, for the most part. The uniforms need a nice consistent update that goes with their brand new logo. We'll see if they can pull it off.
  20. It sure seems like it. But then again, I found another post with what seems to be another helmet design, based on the placement of the green part.
  21. Even without the name controversy, the green EE inside a circle on a yellow helmet is directly associated with the Green Bay Packers. I think Green Bay had it first. They finally correct that in a big way, only for them to go back to their old ways a year later, despite the positive fan feedback. The Double E is no longer the primary logo. Keeping it around as an alternate makes sense, due to it's history.
  22. Yellow isn't used as an outline color anywhere. Plain white numbers are consistent with that.
