  1. The swirling stars(?) from 0:00 to 0:06 of that video are way too reminiscent of Paramount. Otherwise I quite like the new logo and treatment.
  2. These may be the "wrong" uniforms, but they're beloved here in Edmonton, almost as much as the royal blue. Nobody in Edmonton sees these as the wrong uniforms.
  3. As much as I hate the idea of this, your execution within these (annoying) parameters is top notch. Well done.
  4. I actually loved the colour scheme, one of my favourite things about that look.
  5. As a (fellow?) Oilers fan, I can say confidently that it was all the same red. The issue was that in the stripes, the red and copper touched, and that made the red look weird. It was never salmon.
  6. I was hoping. they'd throw us all a curveball and go with orange shoulder yokes on the road (like the reverse retro) but regardless, really happy they look like the Oilers again.
  7. This we agree on. The Vegas greys are absolutely beautiful.
  8. I also loved the Thrashers' logo and their asymmetrical home jerseys.
  9. I liked the Capitals' Capitol Building logo and black jerseys. I don't think they should go back to those, as the Caps should be a red and blue (navy) team, but they were good looking jerseys in a vacuum.
  10. This is true, but the WHA orange alternates were also popular because they looked good. Add in that they. were used for the2017 playoffs, the first Oilers playoff run in a decade, and you can see why they're popular. But the newer orange home jerseys are just garish. Way too bright and they look like pylons. Bring back the 2015-17 set.
  11. A LOT of the orange jerseys you see in the crowd are the WHA orange throwbacks that were used from 2015-17. Those were beautiful jerseys. The orange jerseys they've worn from 2017-18 onwards are just plain ugly. Anyways, fans were asked specifically to wear orange for the playoffs and that's why the crowd is so orange. Edit: Also, the royal blue jerseys are beautiful. I don't know if it was you or someone else who said they look dated whereas the Isles' royals don't but I completely disagree. I've actually never liked the Isles' royal blue jerseys at all. Always thought there was too much blue and white and not enough orange. The Oilers' royal blues are perfect imo because the colour balance is perfect with the orange yokes, numbers, and cuffs. Edit#2: I just saw you specifically said you like the greater proportion of white on the Isles' jersey. I guess we're not going to find any common ground on this topic then, haha.
  12. This is true. As a 21 year old Edmontonian myself, I definitely associate the royal blue with the 2010-2017 Oilers. But that's not necessarily a bad thing in my mind. Yes, the Oilers sucked for most of that time (2016-17 being the major exception). But those years were also the better part of my childhood. Those are the jerseys that immediately come to mind when I think Oilers. On a side note, I'm not fundamentally opposed to the idea of navy. But the shade of orange that they've been using since 2017-18 awful, and so the royal sets simply work better. If they could go royal at home, white on the road (maybe even with orange yokes like the Reverse Retro), and bring back the 2015-17 WHA orange thirds, that would be ideal imo.
  13. Disagree. Way too much blue and not nearly enough Burgundy imo. I guess this is my fundamental problem with the blue equipment as well: I think of the Avs as a burgundy team with blue accents ,not the other way around. The blue equipment makes the overall look too blue. And of course, it looks totally out of place on the road whites, which have very little blue.
  14. They all look good. I'd go with the black at home but the road jersey from the blue set.
  15. I'd say Alfa, Ferrari, and Aston. I think the traditional Aston BRG beats out AlphaTauri.
  16. The orange with royal was imo the best jersey they've ever worn. The orange with navy is the worst. Mainly because the new shade of orange makes them look like pylons.
  17. Many Oilers fans would agree. But any combination of Royal Blue and Orange with the traditional Dynasty Era stripes and shoulder yoke would make us happy. The 2015-2017 set was pretty much perfect with the royal blue homes, white roads, and orange thirds (which they also wore for the playoffs). But I like the reverse retros with the orange yokes better than the Gretzky-era whites. Edit: Also we'd need to go with blue pants on the road, and ideally blue numbers/name as well.
  18. Also, this may be a case of the Deccan Chargers (who no longer exist) taking inspiration from the Lamborghini logo:
  19. Surprised that perhaps the most infamous example hasn't yet been posted:
  20. When it comes to the Caps, I have a lot of unpopular opinions. Opinion 1: The black jersey and capitol building logo were great. Opinion 2: The current jerseys aren't bad, especially because I love the colour scheme and colour balance. Best colour balance they've had. Tied with the black/blue/copper for their best colour scheme. Opinion 3: The original jerseys were not that good, though they are iconic and unique. I much prefer the navy to the royal.
  21. Although I never used one myself, I do miss signatures, and the square profile pics, and a whole bunch of other things. Shows some potential, but LONG way to go. Hope for the best!
  22. I would love a Chevy template. Looks amazing!
  23. I have to say I like both the Sabres and Isles alt.
