  1. This was pretty funny IMO. Also, I have to appreciate how the NFL has turned the release of the schedule into must-see TV.
  2. NFL Schedule is officially out. Probably going to Minneapolis this year. Will be neat to see a road game.
  3. So, 7 All-XFL starters for the Defenders and 1 for the Renegades. I want to think it's going to be a re-enactment of the Million Dollar Game but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a shootout like the last matchup. I'd say alt-football is a guilty pleasure but I feel no guilt in enjoying it. I'll take fillerball to hold me over because the Royals sure as ain't.
  4. Okay, I'll take the L about Oakland. It could support the A's if an owner who gave a damn bought the team. But that's the issue: No owner since the Bash Brothers days has given a damn about the A's. The issue is finding someone who does.
  5. Where did I say spending public money on a stadium was a good idea?
  6. I’m not saying the people are bad or even anything all that negative. I’m saying that they tend to be poor or working-class and considering that CoL in California in general and the Bay Area in particular is already inflated to hell and back, that leaves even less money for disposable income than such a situation typically would. So, to get more support for a team, there needs to be more money flying around. Maybe Oakland can try to lure some companies looking for cheaper real estate from Silicon Valley but don’t want to leave California. The city government is bog-standard incompetence but that’s every city.
  7. Oakland is going to have to have a wealth boom before any major league team ends up there again. It’s too small, too poor and too broke to have more than one and even that’s in question. Maybe they can take advantage of San Francisco’s collapse?
  8. Dave Stewart is the face of the Nashville group. Now, he’s still important because you need someone who was in the game because that helps with PR, but two things: Number 1: No one is going to outright say that they are going to rip a team out of its home market. Even Clay Bennett didn’t say he was wanting to move to Oklahoma City until it happened despite every other sign screaming it. Number 2: I’d look at the Executive Committee. Those are the real big shots who are going to be making the decisions. I have hyperlinked the Music City Baseball’s board so anyone can see for themselves. As for the stadium? Well, Nissan Stadium is about to hit the dust. Just saying. Disregard, this is actually the plan: ”Music City Baseball has carefully studied multiple possible sites in Davidson, Williamson and Rutherford Counties. Presently, we are focusing on a tract of land on the Tennessee State University campus, along the Cumberland River. This location would put the stadium less than four miles from downtown Nashville. We envision that the baseball stadium, which will serve as a sports and entertainment venue, will be part of a mixed-use family sports and entertainment district.”
  9. So they’ll probably wind up trying to move the team to Nashville instead of Las Vegas. Besides, Oakland is a sewer. No wonder the Raiders and Dubs left.
  10. The ones that are acceptable are the ones who don’t need to be on life support to succeed. So basically every team but Arizona and until very recently Florida and I’m not even sure they’re out of the woods yet.
  11. Everything is a social construct if you break it down, thus, that term has no meaning. What is true, is that time has an effect on other people and Canadians like @IceCap are tired of being treated like second-class fans.
  12. Good. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can start climbing back up. Thankfully for Mr. Swearinger, rock bottom is ending up in the XFL and not OD’ing in an alley.
  13. Letting Antonio Brown have any job title except “Clown” is asking for trouble.
  14. I guess we finally have the answer to who’s going to be in the next Million Dollar Game now.
  15. Yep, you figured it out. We, the people from red states, are trolling and gangstalking you by winning in the playoffs.
  16. It's an annoying schtick, but alright.
  17. Uh, I don't think anyone gives af about the political angles of this, man. I think people just find Boston insufferable even if they agree with their politics.
  18. At the very least, it would be quite the unexpected result from the perspective of 48 hours ago and frankly right now if the Arlington Renegades manage to pull it off. Defenders/Renegades reminds me more of the Mass Effect morality system then it does a football game IMO. Still, I think the Defenders win by 10 but I also thought the Renegades were going to get completely BTFO by Houston so who knows?
  19. Maybe the Leafs can win the Cup now that the Bruins have been eliminated.
  20. Dean Blandino calling Arlington Dallas is one thing but the color commentator just called Houston DC. Wow And holy hell, I might actually be out $200. Renegades look great right now. Picture is the jersey I might wind up sending to @Ferdinand Cesarano
  21. Houston punches back against Dallas Arlington with a Cox rushing TD from a yard out. Renegades 14, Roughnecks 8 Aaaand then screws up the kickoff with the Renegades scoring another TD.
  22. And Perez throws a bomb to put the Renegades up 14-0. Not what I was expecting.
  23. Travis Kelce is just a one-in-a-million combination of size, speed, elusiveness to baffle any defense. Pretty sure every fanbase has screamed “Why won’t they cover him?” by now.
  24. 40th anniversary of one of the best manager tirades of all time.
  25. The Wildcat? I know it feels like the financial world is on the brink of collapse, but that doesn’t make it 2008. But seriously, the Chiefs have always been shredded by mobile quarterbacks. :censored:ing Johnny Manzel looked like a pro against them. It’s why I lowkey thought the Eagles were going to win the Super Bowl.
