  1. IMO the Spurs' city uniforms from last year were the perfect use of fiesta colors. Excellent use of the colors as a highlight.
  2. I like expansion purely because it means four more brands to enjoy/hate but I've never seen a dumber idea. NFL expansion would be pure stupid.
  3. No it doesn't, the Hornets wore the 1988-89 teal jerseys in 17-18, which wasn't an anniversary.
  4. I've enjoyed his videos, but I think it's clear from his opinions on the Washington Football Team's renaming (in his video on Dan Snyder he says both sides are wrong, if I remember correctly) that he considers himself an "enlightened centrist". He doesn't take a side because being passionate about something is for losers.
  5. There is a Bobcats nod, apparently, the left-aligned numbers are a nod to the old Cats unis. In general it seems like both the Hornets and Pelicans are content to sort of keep the past in the past (i.e. no Pels nods to the Hornets and no Hornets nods to the Cats) which is fine by me. There's a small display for the Bobcats in Spectrum Center and the team has been including Bobcats players in their celebrations, like the 30th a couple years ago. No clue what the Pelicans have done regarding that. It's sort of a "yeah it happened but we don't really put it front and center" which is how it should be treated in my opinion.
  6. Charlotte's are growing on me, though I still hate the gradient. I'd be more than happy to grab a shirt with the script on it.
  7. I don't care what you call yourself, but keep it off the jersey. Only thing that belongs on a jersey is the city name or the mascot name.
  8. If you're gonna remove something it's gotta be the gradient. Pinstripes have real significance and the honeycomb/gradient pattern has never been something that's been on a Hornets jersey except for I think a couple City jerseys. Don't even need to use Bobcats stuff! Just throw the modern fonts on the classic pinstripes! It's that easy! No clue why this team always overdoes the bad stuff and underdoes (is that a word?) the good.
  9. So, so close to being good. Why does this team hate looking good?
  10. ARZ - Great update! Everything is more "thunder-y" while still getting that inspiration across. MKE - Not really feeling either the wheat or the font on the logo. The blackletter still looks great, but the modern font doesn't match anything else and I think it's out of place here. The wheat is also highly detailed and doesn't really match the rest of the set. I'm not vibing with the uniforms here either, for whatever reason the color balance looks off. Can't explain why, just is to me. SEA - Looks good, more accurate. POR - Yeah, I'm sorry, this is a non-starter for me. I don't really like anything here. The block font you've made is decent, as is the script, but the logos and colors are nowhere close to working for me. The rose + flag is too complex in my opinion, I'd pick one of the two to go with. The gradient is a big no-go, I don't think it adds anything here and I'd rather you just pick one shade of rose gold and match it with a better color than maroon. Not a fan of this one, sadly.
  11. Home pinstripes make a uniform busy, road pinstripes are overboard.
  12. Charlotte Coliseum was built for the city to stay in the ACC's basketball rotation, but its construction led to the Hornets. Slight gray area, but I believe this one counts.
  13. It would be allowed, because other teams have baseballs on their sleeve patches that are ok, like the Giants.
  14. I like it! The shield shape is a little off-putting a first just because I'm used to the original logo but I think everything else is an upgrade. One thing of note is that there's no sword at the top of the head, only the handle, which I think could use some work. A nice update though!
  15. Oh, there it is. That's such a great logo. Excellent update to the original and something I'd be proud to wear as a fan. Great work!
  16. Really excited for teams to introduce their City unis and have like at least 10 of them be better than their normal sets
  17. It's probably nostalgia, because I think the old Sharks logo just flat-out sucks. I'm no fan of the modern one, but it's definitely better than what came before it. There's a difference between being "grounded" and just looking bad. As a staunch defender of the original Hornets logo, I fully recognize that the early '90s expansion teams have an odd charm to them, but I think the Sharks are missing that charm, because it's all black and gray and white. The most notable color that isn't black is tan, which isn't a team color. Their iconic teal is a partial outline and their secondary silver is also an outline. They didn't even make the eye teal! That's like, the most obvious thing you can do to add a splash of color! It's a waste of great name and colors. For what it's worth, I really like this Sharks logo. Excellent update of the primary, properly uses every color, and combines the triangle and the shark into a cohesive shape (the same way Robo-pen did). I'm not a big fan of the "S" shape at the bottom or the shadows on the teeth, upper teeth especially, but this blows both primaries out of the water, no pun intended.
  18. The teal is the highlight and the black is the shadow, which makes more sense than an all-black shark. You can see how the teal represents where the shark is being hit by the light, as opposed to the black parts, which are in shadow. Not only is the shark's shape not particularly well-defined in this logo, but there's no teal at all aside from one tiny partial outline in the triangle. The shark's eye is also black, making it hard to define, and it's not moving very much. It's a decent line from top left to middle right, but even then it looks like it's just being cropped by the triangle. The modern shark conveys much more movement simply by curving down slightly. I won't defend the odd curves in the triangle of the modern logo nor the cartoonish chomping on the hockey stick (which is, in my opinion, way more ridiculous than having teal highlights on the shark) but the shark itself is much-better rendered and colored in the modern logo.
  19. Well, sharks aren't black, either. Adding more of their primary color into their logo is a good thing.
  20. I know they're not black and yellow, but we do already have an iconic bee-themed team in the NBA.
