  1. I completely disagree, the curly W is terrible and the DC logo is stellar. Not sure I'd put it on the cap when the team's name isn't DC, but it's a great logo that deserves way more use than it's getting.
  2. Yeah that's just a concept, and a weak one at that. Lotta merch with the black and mint, so odds are the colors are right, but I really hope it's not just a plain design.
  3. Gators aren't associated with the Carolinas at all, much more Florida. If you're dead set on keeping a crocodile/gator-themed team, just move them.
  4. Crocodiles don't live in the Carolinas. They're barely even in the southern tip of Florida. I'd go back to the drawing board for Carolina - preferably starting with dropping the regional moniker for a city name.
  5. The name was taken from a racist police organization, the nickname is already used by a much more famous and long-lasting hockey team, and I don't think they can get a good visual identity out of it.
  6. The real solution to fixing the Rangers is to change the name.
  7. I know it's a traditional hockey look and I'm well aware my opinion is an unpopular one, but I just don't like diagonal lettering on hockey jerseys. Aesthetically I think a crest looks better every single time, including the Rangers. I only specified the Rangers because even if I think they'd look better with a crest as opposed to the wordmark, they've never done that.
  8. Glad to see you're still working on this! I haven't commented on the last couple updates because they've been at bad times for me but I've got some time now so here goes. BOS: I'm not really feeling the striping on this one. I think a Boston team could use some more traditional striping and this weird phantom/thin yoke doesn't feel right. I get what you're going for with the lights from the lighthouse but it's not working for me here. Love the colors and logo, the nautical flags are such a nice touch. NY: I think it is a damn shame to not use that excellent NY logo on the helmets. Funnily enough, I made a very similar logo around the same time (although I'll admit you did it better) but it's a great way to do a unique NY interlock. I could go either way on the tower logo itself, and I think the blue jersey could use some more white. The large white numbers stand out in a bad way here. I love the throwback striping here, it works wonders. LV: Big time upgrades here. I liked your old Vegas set but this one is much better. I'm not sure why sometimes the card suits are sublimated and other times they're just white, I think having them be white always will help with color balance, especially on the pants. I also think this set might benefit from a black helmet instead of a red one, it really feels like black is the dominant color here with red as a secondary. The logo is great, this is one of my favorite sets of yours. Great work as always, I'm always looking forward to the next set and I hope you keep working on this.
  9. Diagonal letters always look bad, especially for such a long word like "Pittsburgh". The Rangers are the only team that should be using them and only because of historical context.
  10. Knowing the NHL, the Yotes will move to Quebec... to wait out building a Tempe arena.
  11. It's always funny to me when a soccer club outside of the States/Canada upgrades their crest by improving it in like every way and the fans are livid because it doesn't include a poorly drawn lion/bird/crown/whatever that's been there since like 1890. Such a different world compared to how the US does it.
  12. I personally hate using the interlock on the road jersey, especially when these teams have better, full-name road scripts. The Dodgers' "Los Angeles" script is way better than the "Dodgers" one on the road jersey. There should always be the full name of whatever geographic moniker your team represents on the road jersey.
  13. If the league last longer than a couple seasons (big if), I bet we see the LA Express and Oakland Invaders join. Two brands with some big-time recognition and LA in particular is a huge media market, something I'm sure Fox wants.
  14. The new USFL announced their teams and logos today on Colin Cowherd's show. The Panthers, Generals, Stars, and Maulers will play in the North, and the Stallions, Gamblers, Breakers, and Bandits in the South.
  15. This Robo-Pen erasure is a travesty and the team removing the logo, especially on the Reverse Retro, is a real shame. Where are the record book purists on this?
  16. Yeah, the "regular season" conference title thing is goofy, but it's not like they're the only ones that do it, just as @Sport said. And of course they act like "the younger brother", they are a younger team, and stuck-up snobs from the North won't give the Southeast the time of day. Every team that gets memed on, from the Preds to the Canes to the Bolts, have something to prove because it seems like half of hockey's fans want them dead and moved to Saskatoon or wherever. They have an "us vs. the world" attitude because it can feel like the (hockey) world is against them. Not to belabor the point, but "growing the game" is a real thing! I thought hockey was a joke before I watched a game live. I wouldn't have been able to unless I had a hockey team near me to watch! I do think Quebec should have a team, but I also think the league made the right choice expanding in the Sun Belt. I think the teams that had issues, like the Thrashers, Yotes, and Panthers, are due to failed ownership or terrible stadiums (or both, if you're Arizona). And yeah, anything from Pittsburgh is in bad taste to support.
  17. The ball is actually my favorite logo of the bunch, it's so ridiculous it wraps around to being charming. I'll echo the distaste for the squeezed C, but I think it'll be something we all get used to within a season or two. The Guardians script in particular is great and I think it'll look super good on a uniform.
  18. If FIU is spending that much on football, yet there's no money, I would wager someone somewhere in that program is laundering money.
  19. Cam Newton is back, baby! You could feel how different this team is. Obviously the Cardinals were missing several of their best players, but the energy is completely different. I think we can ride this momentum into the playoffs. Not sure if we can do much beyond that, but I'll take it for how bad the Darnold era was.
  20. I personally would like it the other way around - the pinstripes are a jersey element and the gradient is a court element and I'd rather keep things that were on Hornets jerseys (though I suppose the script breaks that anyway). In fact, the classic pinstripes and modern fonts are the perfect Hornets set in my opinion, though probably just have them be teal, purple, and white - no need for the multicolored stuff nowadays.
  21. Yeah the Hornets' set continues to grow on me. I wish they didn't have the massive gradient but it's certainly one of the most cohesive unis from this Mixtape experiment.
  22. This is how I feel about things like the A's to Vegas and NBA expansion - ill-advised IMO, but it's an inevitability. Now I just hope each team looks good.
