  1. I can always appreciate going out of the box - but it just doesn't work here. You've aimed for locally-relevant, creative names so far, but "Crocs" was simply an alliterative pick with a unique name, nothing to do with the Carolinas. Any Carolina team comes from the era of hyperlocal branding so trying to force something that isn't doesn't make sense realistically and even if we ignore time periods there's just not a reason for Crocs to be picked at all for Carolina. There are still unique, unorthodox names that could be used for the Carolinas, plenty of fun wildlife species that haven't been tapped for their logo potential live in the region (Cuckoos for alliteration, owls are a fantastic brand, any number of snakes, salamanders, etc) but I just don't think "Crocs" is a good fit for the Carolinas. Every other team gets something that makes sense, why wouldn't Carolina?
  2. I'd love to see NASCAR give an attempt at a real dirt track - Eldora or Knoxville are some I've seen thrown around. Bristol isn't meant for dirt, the track isn't built to maintain it, and while the races have been exciting there have been some stupid, stupid things happening that wouldn't happen at a real dirt track like the mud from last year or the grilles from this year. But I'm over Bristol Dirt, and I'm thinking it may be time for Bristol to lose the spring race. Speaking of, many people have thrown around the idea that no track with a couple exceptions get more than one date, those exceptions being Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, Darlington, and Martinsville. I don't mind it, especially because the one cookie-cutter track would be in different configurations for both events. I'd love to see more schedule diversity and it would mean NASCAR could try new things like Montreal or going back to Chicagoland or something.
  3. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda like it. Looking forward to the full set.
  4. Loving this, especially those orange caps and socks. The Astros desperately need more space in their brand and this kills it. Excellent adaptation of the City Connect set.
  5. It is funny to see Valvoline on the side of the car while Ally takes front and center. Ally had bought every race for the 48 so it's not like Valvoline would be the primary sponsor anyway and if Bowman specifically requested honoring Martin then this scheme makes sense. I personally would love to see a HendrickCars throwback for Larson. In other throwback news, as previously mentioned Keselowski will run the Viagra throwback, his teammate Chris Beuscher will throw back to Matt Kenseth's DeWalt scheme (also sponsored by socios) and Bubba Wallace will run the Columbia 23, with a design inspired by Columbia's gear from the 90s. Personally I like the Kenseth car and I love the Bowman car (2nd favorite driver with a Valvoline scheme which is always gorgeous), but the Bubba car falls flat for me. I don't like it that much when the car is a throwback to the sponsor and not another car, although there are certainly exceptions to that.
  6. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-approves-alternate-helmets-beginning-in-2022 Any alt. Not allowed to be used with primary home/road jerseys. Quick edit: There are also conflicting reports about Washington using the black helmet with the white and alt jerseys. We won't know for sure until they begin to take the field.
  7. I hate the Rays' branding crisis because they have two very different logos on the same jersey (and it looks awful, too). The Chargers, while having two unnecessary uniforms, at the very least know what their brand is and their primary jerseys reflect that.
  8. I doubt the Panthers' logo ever receives more than tweaks - the jerseys are sadly a different story.
  9. There's a simple solution for the Canes (aside from moving to Charlotte and becoming the Checkers):
  10. Excellent start with the Hammers! I love the interlock and the whole classic set.
  11. That Astros cap is excellent and should be the full-time cap. After that, I like most of the jersey (font is too wide, "Space City" is dumb, the sleeves aren't great) and I hate dark-colored pants in baseball and also numbers on pants in any sport. The gradient looks good, pleasantly surprised with these.
  12. The sublimated warning flags really get me. Both Canes jerseys would look much better if the warning flags were properly red and black. Incredible how the Hurricanes have managed to downgrade nearly every time they change jerseys.
  13. Loving Vancouver! Really nice work making it shimmer like a raven would.
  14. I'm pretty sure that's a nod to the signs of the Civil Rights movement, kind of like the Grizzlies' first City jerseys. There also seems to be an MLK patch on the sleeves. The irony of this team using Civil Rights imagery is not lost on me.
  15. Absolutely adoring what you've got going on with St. Louis. The contrasting sleeves on the white uniform is awesome and that STL monogram is class. I think the helmet might need some white, but other than that STL's looking great. I love Quebec, the way you've done the Northern Lights is so cool and they're easily my favorite team. Love the soft gradient on the pants and helmet in particular. Dallas looks nice, the striping is classy and they look good. Great work as always, really looking forward to the final teams!
  16. Don't hate going back to the Bobcats for this challenge (my ideal would be the classic pins with the modern fonts) but I would've gone with the NASCAR night jerseys. Having the pinstripes makes it better in my opinion at representing the team as a whole. Never been a fan of those original Cats jerseys. Still a great jersey, it works really well with the teal and purple. Loving the rest of the SE, Miami in particular.
  17. I'd still rather the team draft a QB than take another chance on another reclamation project. He did well-ish in Cleveland, but how well would he do here? And would that success or lack thereof really be worth the risk/capital in trading for him? In my opinion it's more worth taking a chance on a rookie QB that you can control for several years on a low contract than a more proven, but still risky QB that, if he does well, will command a lot more money from you.
  18. To be quite honest, I don't see the value in trading for Baker. Ok, he wins us a couple more games - does that benefit us? Would it not be better to draft our next QB than trade for one (with the little draft capital we have, we still don't have a day two pick) and then if he is the long-term answer pay that traded QB a ton of money, handicapping us from improving the team elsewhere? The strategy to win in the NFL is to have a young QB on a rookie contract then use the remaining money to build up the rest of the team. The Panthers have a bunch of good young players approaching contract extensions and I don't want to be handicapped paying Baker instead of them.
  19. This is exactly why I don't want us trading for him - we need to stop trying to get failed stars to be our long-term answer and make a play for a young QB they we draft to be our franchise guy. Not sure if that will be this year or next year. If it's not Willis, I hope it's next year.
  20. I would assume there are teams relocating, not expansion. Roughnecks and Vipers are prime for relocation because the USFL has teams in those cities.
  21. I never want Watson on this team. I hate this ownership. Best thing Tepper could do for the city of Charlotte is leave.
