  1. The Grizzlies permanently returning to teal (preferably with gold, like the pinstriped city jersey) would be such a huge upgrade. I know the double blue thing is kinda their brand now but it's never worked for me. The bright teal as opposed to Charlotte's more dull shade would be such a welcome addition to the NBA's color palette.
  2. Why would any player ever want to go to the Charlotte Hornets when they could be signed by the Lakers or Warriors? Getting rid of the draft utterly dooms small-market teams. I know this is great for you, being a New York fan and all, but this would basically be certain death for any team not based in a top-10 media market because you'd rob the teams that can't sign big-name free agents (again, not even talking money here, this is strictly a location thing) of their only way to improve.
  3. I think this is the best one - the bevel isn't doing much for me. I prefer the slight curve on the star as well.
  4. Isn't revenue sharing already a thing in the MLB? I feel like I heard something about the A's opting out of it, for whatever reason. Either way, I'd much rather have a salary cap and its underappreciated yet very necessary cousin, the salary floor. It forces the cheapskates running Oakland, Pittsburgh, Cincy, and other small-market teams to actually put some money into their roster while the cap prevents teams like the Yankees, Dodgers, and Red Sox from spending the GDP of a small country just to lose in the LCS (as funny as that is). And yeah, the regular season is longer than the playoffs, but I'll tell you that this year is the most fun I've had as an Orioles fan and it's because they're winning. Watching losing baseball is miserable. A long season full of getting blown out every night as your team sells off any remotely good players for a few single-A prospects that might be good in a couple years. It sucks. It's even worse for a small-market team, who actually needs to draft well and develop talent and can't spend billions on big names. Watching terrible season after terrible season is a great way to lose casual fans. Maybe it's not pointless, because you'll get to see some young guys playing well maybe, and maybe you'll play spoiler or have a nice game, but on the whole, being a fan of a losing baseball team is far and away the worst punishment in the sports world. Playing for something, even if it is the third wildcard spot in a bloated playoffs, gets people invested. Unlikely championship runs are the stuff of legends, like the 2019 Nats run or the 07 NY Giants.
  5. I like the second take with kelly instead of neon. I will say, the wings and logos still have black, I think we'd get a better picture of the whole set if you got rid of that. I like the set overall, but keeping the old number font is a big miss since it doesn't match anything else. I'd remove the second midnight outline on the white jersey's numbers as well.
  6. As an Orioles fan, I would welcome any divisional alignment that doesn't get us stuck with two of the biggest teams in baseball, the best team at developing talent in baseball, and a team that can spend when it chooses to. I hate the AL East.
  7. Oh man, this looks great! Pretty much exactly what I've been wanting. Nice work, I'd love to see some other teams get this treatment!
  8. "one basic uniform system" You mean the set where the original home and road uniforms looked like they belonged to different teams? The one where they mix and match all the time, leading to no consistency? Obviously the navy and royal jerseys are unnecessary but even with them the Chargers only wear six different combinations. The Rams wore nine last season. Plus all the Chargers jerseys are just color swaps of each other - the Rams can't say that.
  9. I wish they had gone with the red striped socks from the original Boston Patriots uniforms but white pants/white socks works when the socks are striped.
  10. I've been an outspoken proponent of a team (specifically the Browns) trying a cream-colored road jersey. The problem is the Rams selected the ugliest shade of dishwasher-soap gray that everything looks dull then made a bad-looking jersey on top of that. They broke the cardinal rule of using off-white: never use white! Also, all-black and all-white is a problem because of the leotard look, not specifically because of the colors. Those two are just the most common monochromatic looks and therefore draw the most ire. So yes, we can have it both ways.
  11. Yeah, I think the white is a better look here. Hadn't even considered how weird cream lettering would look with gray pants but you're right. I wish you could keep the cream but sadly I don't think it fits for the Admirals.
  12. Update: the final count for teams wearing all-black, that is, a black jersey, black pants, and black socks, is 125-131-1. The first-ever all-black was New Orleans vs. Carolina on October 14th, 2001. New Orleans, wearing all-black, won 27-25. All-black has been worn in 7 playoff games, with an all-time record of 5-2 (both losses coming from Cincinnati, actually). The one tie was Philadelphia vs. Cincinnati, with the Bengals in all-black, on November 16th, 2008, with a final score of 13-13. The final record is really held up by the Saints, who started wearing all-black around the time they got really good. From October 29th 2017 to November 22nd 2018, they won 9 straight games in all-black. The Eagles are currently on a 7-game winning streak, stretching back to November 25th, 2018, when they beat the Giants. Out of a total of 257 all-black games, the Saints have worn it the most, at 78, followed by the Jaguars at 47, then the Bengals at 41. The team that gets all-black worn against them most often is the Panthers, who have faced all-black 17 times (helped by being in a division with the Saints and Falcons). The Falcons are next at 16, and then the Giants at 15. So, I can say, at least for now, that teams wearing all-black do not have that dog in 'em.
  13. The all-time record for teams wearing all-black, that is, black helmet, black jersey, black pants, and black socks, is 48-45-0, bolstered by Baltimore, mostly, as well as Pittsburgh winning all but one of their Color Rush games. There's been exactly 1 playoff game where a team wore all-black: Jacksonville vs. Buffalo on January 7th, 2018, where Jacksonville won wearing all black, 10-3. Including all-black minus the helmet yields worse results for the black-wearing team, though I haven't finished crunching the numbers on that.
  14. Wasn't it reported that the league considers any "alternate jersey" game to be one where either the alt jersey or alt helmet is being used? So the stupid all-black Color Rush will eat into the three blue jersey games and not any of the normal black jersey games.
  15. Very nice! I think the only change I'd make is adjusting the "whiskers" to come to a point like the other edges of the logo do. The rounded corners don't seem to match.
  16. Great to see you back! I'm liking most of what I see for Brooklyn, just a couple things I would tweak. First is the red text on the navy alt - I like mixing things up but this is hard to read on a big screen, I can't imagine how tough it would be at a distance. Second, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually don't really like the use of cream here. For whatever reason it doesn't work for me here, which is strange, because I love using cream in sports. I love the striping pattern you're using as well as the emphasis on red. Nice work as always, can't wait to see your next work!
  17. That top row is basically just the Minnesota Timberwolves' current color scheme, which I love, so I'd be happy to see it more often.
  18. Yeah and while those are all also unnecessary at least they have different designs/serve a different purpose - this set occupies the same design space as their normal road jersey.
  19. I'll agree with that the Jets and Eagles helmets suck but to call black a "non-team color", especially for the Eagles, is incorrect. I'd argue neither team needs or should have black but the Jets have worn a black alt since their redesign and the Eagles first wore black in 2003 and have been using the color since 1996. Like I said both teams arguably should not be wearing black but they are team colors. Also, the Bengals' 80s and 90s jerseys rule.
  20. It seems like it got through pre-race because they don't take off the wrap. Reports have it as material on the front facia and apparently it affected the aero of the 11 and 18. Because the penalty can be (and has been) appealed no more details have been released. I'd expect a more full explanation sometime this week after the appeal is heard and decided on.
  21. I was wondering if teams would take advantage of the extra shell and swap decals on them as well. The Falcons came to mind as completing the gradient look by replacing the throwback decals with the modern ones.
  22. Wasn't expecting the purple at all but that is gorgeous. The new lighter blue is awesome as well, I love this set. It's a team I'd be proud to support.
  23. I believe a new purple Statement jersey was implied by Conrad so hopefully we get a pinstriped purple set finally. Nothing indicating the two primaries will be changed or even can be changed.
  24. Burns' nickname is Spider-Man, that's his celebration pose after a big game.
