  1. It doesn't help that they are called Panther City FC. If the NLL is insistent on keeping the DFW market, then relocate the team within the Metroplex and rename them to Dallas. And then once the move is made, do something to increase the marketing. Perhaps maybe use athletes from other local teams as "brand ambassadors" for the team, such as using Luka Doncic (Mavericks), Micah Parsons (Cowboys), Corey Seager (Rangers) and Tyler Seguin (Stars) and make a big deal about it as the other local teams have done. Doing that means that they exist in the eyes of the other local teams so when they get to a championship, they get support from the other local sports teams rooting them on and when they do win the NLL Championship, they will all congratulate the team with tweets offering their congrats, which could also include videos from players from those other teams congratulating the Dallas Panthers on winning the NLL Championship. There's potential for an NLL team to work in DFW.
  2. It was apparently someone who knows someone who works in the Panther City Front Office who posted it on a lacrosse message board. I don't really know how valid it is. It was here: Assessment of where ownership screwed up | IL Indoor Forum Either way, something needs to be done with Panther City. They have awful attendance, so I don't know how they are going to fix it. Usually DFW area teams (if they are winning) have good crowds. PCLC is competitive and have a shot at going to the playoffs but nobody would know. But if they go to the playoffs and win it all, will anyone in the DFW area care? If they win it all, they won't have a championship parade, they will have a championship celebration where all 200 of their fans will be in attendance in a gathering in Fort Worth (probably at Dickie's Arena) and then management will wonder why they didn't get a championship parade like the other DFW sports teams. If they win it all, it's also unlikely that the other DFW sports teams (except the Dallas Wings since they have the same owners) will send congratulatory tweets as they did when the Texas Rangers won the World Series.
  3. Something has got to give here: Does the city of Chicago have the finances for both a White Sox new ballpark and a new Bears stadium?
  4. I can't see MLB leaving the Phoenix market, so if it's not going to be Phoenix, it's going to be a suburb.
  5. So what I have read is that there's a three year ownership agreement and that Panther City Ownership (who also own the Dallas Wings) may choose not to extend the agreement.
  6. Looks like Panther City is an epic disaster for the NLL from a marketing and attendance standpoint. I live out here and there has been zero marketing for PCLC, although that's because I live in Dallas County and not Forth Worth. They seem to be the only major sports team not to reach to every part of the DFW Metroplex. The World Series Champions Texas Rangers are based in Arlington, but has a baseball academy in Dallas and players and team officials visit schools in Dallas County often. Players and officials from the Stars and Mavericks are often out visiting schools in Tarrant County (where Fort Worth and Arlington are). The Cowboys are a brand by itself. I would guess that the Dallas Wings do a fair amount of marketing in Dallas County and FC Dallas does the same in Tarrant County (their developmental team is located in Arlington). But there's nothing from Panther City which has resulted in poor attendance. They are a competitive team, but does anyone care that they are a competitive team if nobody knows they exist?
  7. And the A's still probably won't be in Las Vegas by then
  8. Even though his claim is "non NFL markets" the NFL can make it really hard for him, especially if he doesn't allow players in his league to sign with the NFL when their season ends. Blocking players from eventually getting to the NFL will not attract players. He keeps poking the NFL bear so much that I can see him in one of his next videos not allowing players to go to the NFL when their season ends but also blocking non players from going to the NFL either. He will probably say something about the need for his league to have roster stability unlike the spring leagues. One of the reasons the NFL didn't make it hard for the USFL and XFL to exist was because players from both leagues were allowed to pursue NFL opportunities once their seasons ended. The UFL is expected to be the same, to allow their players to explore NFL opportunities when the season ends. It seems unlikely that the UFL will block any of their coaches, General Managers or front office people from leaving if an NFL opportunity arises either. The President of Football Operations Darryl Johnston has said that the UFL is not a developmental league for the NFL and that it's a stand alone league, but has also stated that they won't block anybody (players, coaches, General managers, etc) from pursuing NFL opportunities if they have any.
  9. Sabrina has lived up to her potential since coming out of Oregon.
  10. - Says that ESPN is interested (which I doubt because he keeps poking the NFL bear and ESPN is an NFL TV partner) - Believes that the MLF will be around for decades. - 20 teams in non-NFL markets, some have dropped out due to stadium issues. Working on stadium agreements right now. - 20 minutes, in he believes that his teams can beat NFL teams. So the guy in very bottom right is 24 years old and a GM of one of the teams. That's not a big deal since the General Manager of the Two Time USFL Champions Birmingham Stallions is also 24. This may be the last one of these videos I post on here, unless you guys want more from this delusional man.
  11. The NAL has seized ownership of Topeka until they find new owners. As of now, they expect Topeka to play the 2024 season.
  12. Is the CHI Health Center not an adequate NHL caliber arena?
  13. Back when the A's fans and Giants fans had a "Sell the team Rally" at Oracle Park, Manfred was silent about it, but if asked he probably would have said that the chant shows the passion the Giants fans have for their team, ignoring what the chant was all about.
  14. A new trend when assembling coaching staffs: new random titles for coaches such as "Pass Game Coordinator" or "Run Game Coordinator" or "Pass Game Specialist" or "Run Game Specialist" for both sides of the ball. There's still the usual "Assistant Head Coach" and also "Senior Offensive/Defensive Assistant" Waiting for the day an NFL team hires a "Kicking Game Coordinator" even though they already have a special teams coach.
  15. If there was a major top 4 Sports tours it would be PGA, ATP, NASCAR and UFC, although a case could be made for F1, but yeah the crux of this thread is team sports, specifically based in North America.
  16. Oh I know, I always wonder why these QBs continue to play rather than coach. Surely Tim Boyle will make a better coach than a player because the only reason he continues to get QB jobs in the NFL is his ability to dissect film in a QB room, this despite the fact that he was awful in college and awful in the NFL.
  17. One of these "game study QB's" has become a coach:
  18. From what I have watched on YouTube, the most likely outcome of the A's talking to the City of Oakland is that the A's hand back their ownership of the Coliseum to the city and that the City will raise the rent dramatically for the A's.
