  1. But they won't. It's not a "I had these colors first" issue, it's a "what does this look like to the American public?" issue. In that specific arrangement, the American public will think it looks like the Cowboys, especially the younger audience. Hydrox made cookies with creme filling way before Oreos did, but the brand that is more popular and that most people associate that with is Oreos If Detriot only wore the blue pants on the road, I would have no problem. But since Dallas will not change*, I would hope that the Lions try not to look similar. *I'm not saying they should not change. I wish they would. I just know there's a higher chance of hitting the lotto than them ever changing. **Also, if we are being technical, the Lions did have silver and blue, but they did not use a triple stripe with white in the middle until 1966, while the Cowboys had a white stripe in the middle in 1964.
  2. Don't start with the "Texas Revolution" BS. Which one of these has a diagonal line?
  3. Nobody is saying the Cowboys do it better. There is definitley some glaring issues with the Cowboys current set. But you cannot tell me that these two don't even look remotley similar to the casual fan. The Cowboys (unfortunatley) will not change. The Lions (likely) will. instaed of wishing for some Jerry Jones miracle, how about the Lions try to look good and not look like the Cowboys at the same time. All Detriot has to do is take the Barry sanders set and use the Northwestern stripe on the pants and helmet. That way they look good and distinguishable.
  4. This is dark green. This is dark teal.
  5. IDK... it kinda veers into Cowboys territrory, and it kinda looks generic paint-by-numbers 90's football team. I'd rather them keep the Northwestern stripes on the helmets and pants like they have now, just to add a little character to these.
  6. Denver Broncos I know it's a common trope on thses boards to combine the old & new Broncos logos, but it works so well, I'd figured I'd use it here too. Academy blue helmet from the 1967-96 "Orange Crush" returns, with the above modernized logo. The uniforms are based off of the 1965-67 uniforms, with contrasting sleeves and shoulder loops. Alternate blue uniform gets a throwback 1966 helmet. No throwback for Denver, because the main set is essentially a throwback in and of itself.
  7. The Lions just need more white. ---shameless plug alert---
  8. Looks ok, but a bit too over-dramatic compared to the old one: ...and the drop-shadow's no longer consistient with the main jerseys:
  9. A few points here: Americans as a whole have a particularly disheartening habit of generalizing a group based on the actions of a loud few. @Digby made a good point about how antisemitism has been resurfacing for awhile now, but the world had been metaphorically set on fire since then, so that got swept under the rug in most people's minds. To pin this becoming mainstream on Kanye is rather unfair, but him and Irving do need to be held accountable for continuing to spread these types of messages. I sympathize with @IceCap, because as a Black person myself, I understand how it feels to both have someone attack your entire ethnic group over an issue with one person, and how it feels to have part of your culture essentially "stolen" and identified by a group of peole who have no buisness doing so. Black people have first-hand experience with these kinds of things, which is why I'm even more dissapointed in Kyrie, Kanye and Nick, because to put it plainly, they should know better. I think we are approaching a dark time in American history, one where we essentially undo all of the progress that has been made in the last 100 years or so, from women's rights to African-American's rights to antisemitism and so on. All of the issues that people raised hell about and finally started to see some progress is unravelling rather quickly.
  10. 1 SB, 2 SB appearances, 3 conference chip appearances, and 12 playoff appearances since 1985 (Chicago), compared to 9 playoff apperances and 1 conf. chip apperance since 1985 (Detroit).
  11. It's not a 1:1 equvilancy thing here. Cleveland can lend from the previous franchise becuase the new version of that franchise (Balimore) allows it. If the new version of this franchise (Tennesee) does not allow it, then Houston cannot lend from the previous franchise.
  12. Someone needs to buy Cujo the a copy of the Official Book of NFL History.
  13. Season ticket holders get a free Prime subscription, Stream Washington Commanders games all season long on Prime Video!
  14. Yes, they can legally wear the white helmet with the 1990's throwback Color Rush, but the 1960s white throwback is what was being mentioned, which they cannot wear until next year.
  15. The Texans cannot realistically get better with any uniform change. They have one of the most solid identities in the NFL, with a great name & logo, colors that suit the area and the team, and a design that seems traditional and modern at the same time. They should never change.
  16. It has to be the navy throwbacks, because the uniform had to be in last year's style guide for them to pair it with the new alt helmet. That's why we aren't seeing Bucco Bruce or the royal Seahawks.
  17. Atlanta Hawks Altlanta has made some good branding moves recently. They brought back a modernized version of the Pac-man logo a few years back, and then proceeded to return to red/yellow/black in 2020. I wanted to keep moving them in that direction, as it's the most recognizable period of thier history. Association/Icon: The entire set is based off of the 1982-92 Dominique Wilkins set, although modernized a bit. The stripes are now angled rectangles, as to not look as garish or take up as much space. The 2007-15 font returns, as it fits the sharper, modern vibe of these uniforms. Statement: Atlanta is known for their black jerseys, so it's only right to include one here. City: A peach-themed alternate for the The Peach State. What more is there to say?
  18. Boston Celtics One of the most iconic and legendary brands in all of sports is the Boston Celtics. That being said, still having a white man as their logo seems a bit dated, so everyhting black becomes dark green, while everything not green becomes gold. Association/Icon: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. (although "CELTICS" is back on the Icon instead of "BOSTON") Statement: A green-on-green alt seems more appropriate for the C's than a black one, taking cues from Boston's 2021 Earned edition City: The City jersey is a tribute to the late great Bill Russell, with the late 50's-60's wordmark on the front, gold striping, and eleven #6 shamrocks representin the 11 championships won during Russell's career. --switching to @edjb93's template. lmk which one you guys like better.--
