  1. Neither of those are professional hockey teams, so this isn't an issue.
  2. Great. It could stay there. Or maybe in the concepts section.
  3. Agreed. I'm guessing these are similar to the Yankee fashion caps of the past where they just come in different colors. Some people don[t understand that you just don't make a Giants cap in Dodgers' colors, though
  4. I saw a Phillies cap in the same color/style this past week.
  5. Sorry. I was cheering for them. I can't get into regular season NHL games because I just don't have a team. My oldest brother has been a lifelong Leafs fan for some unknown reason, so I cheer with him for them.
  6. As per usual, they did. Right out of the playoffs.
  7. Can it just say Star Trek? That's what I see when I see that R. Close, although not quite it.
  8. I was thinking they'd jam the bleep out of my vacuum.
  9. I wonder if their plan to pay for it was much like the rest of their plans - people will pay us for AFL, so we'll get the money later.
  10. OK. Let me spell it out for you. He has a strong leg, so he was used on kickoffs in college because of unlimited rosters. He couldn't kick for accuracy, so he didn't get a chance to kick PATs. He made some long field goals, but he still may not have the accuracy required to make 95+% of PATs. I'm betting NFL scouts know this about him.
  11. How is he on PATs? Yes. I know they don't kick them. It's a question worth asking.
  12. No team in MLB, NBA, or NHL have blown a 3-1 series lead in back-to-back seasons. We almost had our first in the Bruins.
  13. Somebody had a great post here about how the perspective on this logo is all effed up. I need to find it.
  14. As I recall, Houston PD used it for their cars
  15. I was speaking spectator. Offensively, you go 'station to station'. Defensively, there's no screens to escape. Believe me, when there's a crash of bodies under the boards for a rebound, it isn't easy to know who is supposed to get credit for the rebound (speaking as a part-time statistician for a D-1 program).
  16. I've never seen a misdirection play in baseball.
  17. I'm in New Jersey for the first time in my life on business this week. Thank heavens all Jerseyites aren't like you.
  18. Ok. For all the kvetching done around here about injuries and such, I'm just pointing out the obvious financial angle. Me and my four season tickets are on the paying end of this, not the moneybags end of it.
  19. It didn't when it went from 16 to 17. I don't think it did from 14 to 16, either.
  20. I get that it might be unpopular here, but I'd bet it will be popular where it counts - in the NFL's wallets. In being popular there, it's a pretty good indication that fans are supporting it, if only because advertising dollars and (more importantly) rights fees will continue through the roof. Mark Cuban won't be correct with his 'pigs get fat - hogs get slaughtered' line. I understand where numerically 16 --> 18 is akin to 162 --> 182, but it's only one game per week, not three plus additional weeks to a season. This also isn't a net increase in game time, but I do agree that it's more playing time for the starters. If anyone can't point to real data that shows an increase in injury rate with a 17th game -- please do so.
  21. Hey all you Canuckleheads - Rob Black's son Tyler was called up to Milwaukee today, and inserted in the lineup in the first after an injury to Gary Sanchez. Rod is at the game, and was just getting interviewed by Brewer field announcer Sophia Minnaert . They gave him play-by-play for his second at bat (the first was a double), and Rod got to call a two-strike single. ETA - linky below
