I agree that slate blue uniform was better than what they currently wear. If they had worn them blue over white like this... ...it would've been a perfectly serviceable early 2000's update. (That was when pretty much every team dumped their better looking color schemes for something dark and kewl.) But it's hard for me to see the sombre blue as somehow more boring than their original color scheme, even with that bad Kingdome lighting. Still it's better than what they wear now, just based on the idea that boring monochrome is superior to ugly monochrome.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I’m absolutely positive that when the Seahawks went from that gorgeous Royal and Kelly color scheme to the depressing dull blue pajama look it wasn’t just me and you who considered that to be a major step back.

Two things. First, of course the modern cut of uniforms make it less possible to simply import an old design forward. I’m assuming that when most people say that a team should just wear their throwback permanently they mean an updated version. The Chargers are a perfect example. They obviously started with the idea that the 60’s look was great starting point and updated the parts that wouldn’t still work as well. When I say a team needs to return to an old look this is what I mean. Secondly, it’s obviously a case by case thing. Some teams have a throwback that’s fun to see once or twice a year but should probably just stay in that category. (San Francisco, Detroit, the Giants, Dallas, Tampa Bay, New England.) Other teams would be smart to use their clearly superior older uniforms as a jumping off point for a modern update. (Tennessee, the Jets, Miami, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Seattle, Atlanta.)

Agreed. The Cowboys' usual occasional navy blue outfit is just boring. Consistent, but boring. But the navy jersey over the (totally unnecessary) white pants is boring, top-heavy, and slapped together. The standard white is a jumble of too many colors, but at least they look like the Cowboys. I repeat... the only Cowboy colors they need...

I'll tell you why I'm personally taking so much joy in watching Michigan fans squirm. I was born in Columbus and got my Bachelor's degree at tOSU, but have lived in Detroit for decades. For the best part of this century, I enjoyed the annual beat down the Buckeyes rightfully administered to Michigan, but then had to listen, over and over and over, about how Ohio State only won because they cheat, they pay the players, they're a football factory, they have low admission standards (this especially galling from booger eaters who flunked out of community college and consider Ann Arbor to be some sort of pinko stronghold), and that, most of all, "at least Michigan does it the right way!" A bigger pack of self-aggrandizing victims could not be found. Right now, here in Southwest Michigan these myopic hypocrites are jamming the radio talk show lines with a constant refrain of "every one does it!!" and "I don't even see why this should be against the rules!" Here's what I want. First, all Michigan fans need to admit that if these reports were coming out of Columbus, or East Lansing, they'd be absolutely losing their tiny minds over it. The calls for a total program death penalty would be constant. And second, most of all, just admit you're no better than anyone else, and probably worse than most. Everyone else knows it... it's time for you to accept it too. Loony Jim Harbaugh couldn't beat Ohio State, couldn't win a bowl game, couldn't beat any team with a pulse away from Ann Arbor, and decided he had to do something... anything. And then he did.

OK... that Maryland throwback-ish look is growing on me. I like the helmet script, and the cheesy triple sleeve stripe. But I don't think I can live with the fake perforations on the numbers, or the lack of gold on the helmet and pants. Here's my fix...

Harbaugh is a piece of crap. You want to break some rules I guess you can just do it. But after years of his holier than thou act, and all the Michigan “we would never sink that low” BS it’s just beautiful to watch their hypocritical butts get pulled out into the light.

Watching last years game between tOSU and those skunkweasles, I said to a friend of mine that it looked like the were absolutely ready every time Ohio State blitzed, with a pass over the top. Turns out the low down cheaters were stealing the signs. Also explains why they got their stupid butts kicked by TCU. They never saw them coming, so they hadn't sent their spies in to cheat. F those guys... death penalty, I say.
