tech support CCSLC Board Technical Issues

Been receiving these pop ups every few clicks. Not sure if it matters but I’m in France at the moment. Every two or three clicks one of these fills the screen. You can see the double whammy of the bottom pop up here too (though the actual ad in it has yet to load). -
I don't know that I'd say "number should be brighter" is a rule. I think it works fine in the Marlins case, where they want to have a number, but still have most of the attention on the bright-stylized wordmark. Having a basic black number does the job just fine. Also... 1. The White Sox are one of those teams that does'nt need any white trim on their road uniforms. It's not that it's bad, it's just unnecessary. 2. The Phillies are in the same boat as them as far as having '80s-ish styled road uniform striping:

The bottom ad is now a lot bigger on my desktop, and is now occasionally playing video ads with sound. On my laptop, it cycles through the ads pretty quickly (at times - not all the time) so I might have a siezure, and often times there's distracting animations. Sorry, but I had to enable AdBlock on my desktop / laptop. Looking into how to do it for mobile Safari. I want to support the site and always had it disabled on it, and will re-disable it if the bottom ad is removed. -
I used to think it was just a relativity thing, meaning that of course players looked older to me when I was younger than them, but those same players should appear younger to me now that i'm older than them, but that's not the case. I don't know if it's just that they treated their bodies differently (or not at all), or drugs, partying all the time, or what, but lots of athletes from even as recently as the early 90s look 10-15 years older than they are (by today's standards.) It could also be the hair styles. If you got rid of the mustaches on the players, maybe their faces would appear to be their actual age? Or if you shaved the sides of the horseshoe-bald guys like as is done today, maybe that helps? Let's just look at John Kruk from as recently as '94, compared to another Phillie with similar hair style. Kruk is and Werth are both 32 in these photos. Granted, Werth isn't a fat pig (albeit a pig that was a hell of a hitter), but he looks considerably younger than Kruk, even if he too looks to be older than his age.

I can't seem to find a "desktop version" link like what is usually at the bottom of most mobile sites, and the URL doesn't put a "m." in front of it that can simply be removed, so your best option might be to totally clear your cache and go to the site again. -
Does anyone besides college kids watch daytime ESPN? I tried once on a PTO day, and wanted to throw myself out a window once I realized I couldn't find the remote to change it. It's literally all the same. Every single show is the same, they just repeat each other. I can't even tell you the names of the shows or the hosts, because the just seem like the same. I kinda think that watching sports discussion on TV is ridiculous because people treat it like it's real news, and we treat some of these guys like they're real journalists, when it's literally nothing more than an entertainment show, though I have to say that I do enjoy PTI and the show that comes before it, somewhat (though I want to punch Woody Hayes repeatedly until my fist is actually going through his face and hitting either the wall behind him or the floor if I'm standing over him, and then I'll rip his lips off because they annoy me.)

If "streaming" TV from a desktop or laptop is considered "old-fashioned", I must be prehistoric. I used to wiggle rabbit ears around and/or rotate a rooftop antenna so I could pick up channel 9 (I think it was 9) in NY to watch a Flyers home game vs the Rangers since home games were on pay TV.

It doesn’t need to “pop”. It’s classic and classy without the unnecessary trim. I feel the same for the Yankees and Phillies.
-
No, it doesn't. The white outline is totally unnecessary.

Oh Duh... just found it. It's kind of burried in there - it's the last of the pinned topics, and is never bolded. I think it's easy to overlook... but maybe that's just me. -

How do you get to that? I don't see a "faq" thread or link in this forum. Is it so obvious that I'm missing it? -

Where is the FAQ? Maybe I'm blind but I can't seem to locate it. -

I love when they pop up on top of the "post" button and clicking the x doesn't work the first few times, so you either need to wait, or abort (which I shoudl probably do anyway), or when one pops up and the page shifts, so you end up accidentally "following" a topic because you were about to click something else. -

This uniform combination has never been worn, but is listed as a home uniform from 2003-2007. They wore green-on-green once prior to the 2003 redesign (end of 2002 season) but never from 2003 on. http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/hbgk6yno52fzaba70gck3mudm/Philadelphia_Eagles/2003/Home_Uniform -

I often click on the wrong thing because of how it seems to make the screen jump a bit as it comes and goes. It's more annoying than the big ad that separates the first topic from the rest. -

Ok, I’ll pay anything to get rid of the pop-up ad at the bottom. Literally anything. Just give me a paypal address and I’ll wire over my whole 401(k). -
I listen to baseball on the radio all the time, whether at the shore, back yard, over the TV broadcast, etc. I listen to radio Eagles broadcasts exclusively, unless the timing is just too far off from TV. I don't watch much Flyers or Sixers, but their radio broadcasts are far superior to TV. Honestly, I think the only people that don't listen to sports on the radio at least some non-insignificant amount of time are people in areas that simply don't have great broadcasts.

Pretty sure "radio is not a prudent financial decision" doesn't apply to all markets.

Making a dup acct is like gambling on baseball. Lots of players have done far worse, but that’s the one rule that’s posted everywhere and is clearly defined and non-arbitrary. -

The ads aren't that bad, and I think everyone understands the need for them. That being said, yes I'd most likely do it (depending on the price of course) more because I feel like I spend so much time here that I should pay, but a small perk like that would probably seal the deal.
