Posted March 14, 2016 Share Posted March 14, 2016 My project here is to redesign all the jerseys and logos of the 10 teams of the Elite Ice Hockey league, the major hockey league of all the United Kingdom. I'll try to stick the most with their actual colors and sponsors (yes, they do have sponsors...) Here you have an image to have an idea of the league if it is new to you. First of all I've redesigned the league logo, nothing wrong with the actual one but I find it without character. Now it has a more UKish vibe. The L should hint a hockey stick and the now four stars stand for the four countries in the league, England, Wales, Scotland and Northen Ireland. The grayscale version of the logo will be used in jerseys. I don't particularly like the Braehead Clan logo - or their name, for that matter - so your take is already an improvement. Having said that, I think that you've simplified it maybe too much. The crossed hockey sticks on an oval doesn't really say "Clan" to me (but then, neither does a pair of snarling hockey players ) and I feel as if a lot more could be done with that. First of all I've decided to take the sponsor off the jerseys, then I've changed the reebok logo to make it more visible. It is right, the braehead script looks a bit triangular, I do see it now, but I don't know how to fix it as the path to which it is associated is perfectly curve (I used inkscape). I personally can't wait to see the update for the Edinburgh Capitals, as I did a project on Scotland a few years back & found out about that team. That thing can stand on its own...not sure if you need the word "FLYERS" on the sweaters. I like the Alt although I find the winged shoulder a tad overpowering. What if the shoulder wings were "watermarked"...just a slightly darker yellow than the sweater? Posted March 30, 2016 Author Share Posted March 30, 2016 Edinburgh Capitals Old logo and jerseys My concept I quite like their real identity but I don't like the stylized "lion rampant" as the real one is just so nice for a logo for itself. The striping is taken, as the lion, from the Royal scottish standard. I decided to go on a really "heraldic" way without being too easy using the St.Andrew cross as they have done with their current jersey (but on the alt it was a must ).
