mattr1198 Posted September 10, 2017 Share Posted September 10, 2017 Hey y'all, Decided to try and revamp the New York Rangers' classic logo. Currently, their logo set is a bit cluttered, taking on multiple fonts and styles mixed from both the 90s and the 40s-60s. Some quick descriptions: Color: Held constant from current logo set 1. Primary: Keeping the same general shield style as the current logo, although there are two major changes. The first change being a font shift back to an adjusted form of the 1940s-60s font that the Rangers used. The second change is the "Rangers" now reads step-style, rather than simply diagonally. 2. Lady Liberty Alternate Returns: Due to the seemingly universal demand for the return of the lady liberty alternate logo used until the late 2000s, I brought it back, adjusted and improved in multiple ways. The first change is the colors are updated to reflect the same colors in the scheme currently used. The second change is the new font, which same style as the one used in the primary. The third, although minor, is the adjusted shield, which now has rounded curves near the bottom, whereas the older version had sharp diagonal sides. The fourth change is the addition of the four stars, representing the four Stanley Cups the Rangers have won. 3. NY Pride Secondary/partial: Finally, I wanted a simpler logo that could effectively be used on alternate merchandise, rather than the more complex Lady Liberty. It involves the same font as the primary and alternate, featuring a silhouetted Rangers shield. It is in similar style to the Rangers proposed Winter Classic logo, while being a tad more modern. I also like the variation I saw here that used the italic drop-shadow lettering from the sweaters on the primary. mattr1198 Posted September 11, 2017 Author Share Posted September 11, 2017 Decided I'd give some new sweaters a shot too in order to complete the rebrand: The sweaters have a similar style to the current ones, with a couple of general changes: - Both use a slightly adjusted color scheme to match the exact colors of the logos - Both feature a the new font used in the logos - Both still feature a drop shadow backdrop for the names and numbers, but it has been toned down a bit to match a more retro style while keeping the history of the uniforms in mind - The home sweater now reads "New York" to differentiate the uniforms and showcase the pride of the city - The home sweater now has a red neck - The away sweater stripes are farther apart with the shoulder and tail stripes being lightly adjusted Home: Road: Hope y'all like them! Also took a shot at a pride/alternate jersey loosely based off of the 70s and 00s jerseys, feautring the new updated lady liberty logo and 4 stars on the arms to represent the 4 cups (what else). Also, in terms of execution, you need to switch around what you did with the stars and shoulder numbers. The stars need to be cut off at the top, right now you have 8.
