It certainly belongs in General Design, but there are parallels with sports.

The Army isn’t the first organization to abandon a classic uniform because they wanted to refresh their image, only to swing wildly with a couple new designs in turn, and then bring back the classics in hopes of tapping in to old glories. :D

Oh hey... hello there Jets.

(I believe this just brought the thread full circle)

In the past ten years, their working uniform has gone from utilities, to blue camo, to regular camo, and they’re already about to introduce another one. There’s a service uniform too that was changed fairly recently.

The white cracker jacks were changed this year.

I, for one, am totally against that French and Indian War Champions banner the US Army hung a few years back. They should just be proud of their own history! 😡

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

Jeez...I been out the loop. I knew about the recent change to the service dress uniforms (or at least the last one I knew about was the change to black bottoms with khaki tops; if there's been another one since then I haven't seen it). But three camo changes?? Are they all still in rotation or did each successively phase out the previous? And I didn't know they did away with the white cracker jack sets.

(Actually, come to think of it...the Navy just has, or had, entirely too many authorized uniforms all at once...if any of this was an elimination of variants, they did themselves a favor.)

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

White cracker jacks are still here, they were just tweaked slightly with some blue cuff stripes.

So in 2009/10 they went from utilities (the janitor uniform), to the digital blue camo. Then in 2017 they introduced a regular digital camo. Blue camo is still grandfathered in until October this year. But there is a a new, non camo working uniform that is coming out
