MJWalker45
Chelsea has announced their US Tour https://sports.yahoo.com/chelsea-u-tour-schedule-dates-163856198.html Newcastle United may have been planning to go to Ohio, but didn't bother to talk to FC Cincinnati or Columbus Crew? the Crew supporter groups weren't tracking it at least. Of course there was no plans to play either team, just to use the facilities. https://theathletic.com/news/newcastles-pre-season-tour-to-the-united-states-under-threat-after-ohio-cup-cancelled/cLGlbQFvCy1Z/ https://cominghomenewcastle.sbnation.com/2022/5/18/23124620/report-united-states-pre-season-plans-go-down-in-flames-for-newcastle-ohio-cup-columbus-cincinnati "The sports platform is reporting, per Newcastle United correspondent Chris Waugh, that a friendly tournament going by the name of the Ohio Cup has been canceled with little to no prior notice. The competition would feature Newcastle along with fellow English club Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Spanish clubs Valencia and Villarreal". https://www.manutd.com/en/tour2022 Manchester United is touring Asia this year. https://worldsoccertalk.com/2022/05/18/arsenal-us-summer-tour/ Arsenal will be in Baltimore (Everton) and Florida (Orlando City and Chelsea). https://www.90min.com/posts/barcelona-pre-season-2022-23-fixtures-and-schedule Barcelona also headed to the United States. https://www.90min.com/posts/real-madrid-pre-season-2022-23-fixtures-tickets-schedule Not confirmed, but Real Madrid expected to be visiting the US as well. https://fcbayern.com/en/news/2022/05/audi-summer-tour-fc-bayern-to-play-manchester-city-in-friendly Bayern Munich in the US as well. DG_ThenNowForever
Is there a strong desire to see Newcastle United on a tour? Maybe I could see them as an ICC squad, but solo?

Maybe I could see them as an ICC squad, but solo? They look to be playing a few Spanish sides and Wolves, so probably a junior version of the ICC. I'm just surprised not to have gotten any emails from Lower.com or the Columbus Crew regarding the stadium being used for games. Especially this close to the end of the EPL season. Charlie Stilitano, who runs the ICC, hadn't announced an official ICC tournament for the men this year. Crew fans are kinda ticked off that they aren't at the cool kid's table when it comes to summer tours, but I think as bad as the team's been lately they may want to just schedule a few USL/NISA teams to get their mojo back. English Football League campaigns start on July 30th this year. The EPL starts the following week, August 6th. EFL Championship and Premier League will pause for the World Cup, but League One and League Two will keep playing. I guess that gives them a way of having triple headers during the World Cup. Somehow all of the EFL leagues will still end on the same weekend, but I think the cups being held for the lower leagues only will make up the difference in time frames. https://theathletic.com/news/july-start-for-2022-23-efl-season-due-to-qatar-world-cup/hkHKeiBMfi2T/ https://sportsfinding.com/laliga-approves-the-calendar-for-the-2022-23-season/138434/ La Liga starts the following week, as usual. https://www.dfl.de/en/news/calendar-for-the-2022-23-season/ Bundesliga starts the same week as the EPL. Bundesliga2 starts July 15! So a bit of a gap between them. Having two less teams in the Bundesliga than La Liga and EPL, German will end their regular seasons the week of May 28.

JayMac
La Liga should worry about the financial fair play in its own league. There are basically 3 clubs and everyone else.

There are basically 3 clubs and everyone else. All they had to do is agree a deal like EPL had with NBC. ESPN or CBS probably would have tripped over themselves to do that deal about 5 years ago. Now they're getting less and other than El Classics, no games on regular TV. The league pretty much ensures that no one other than Athletic, Barca, and Real can win.

MJWalker45
With the Premier League schedule, a few of the bigger games (Expected Top 6/Derbies) are coming up earlier this year. they normally tend to be parsed out a bit more towards the middle of the season but the FA requested that the EPL avoid doing these matches closer to the World Cup break: Week 1: 07/08/2022 — 16:30 West Ham United v Manchester City Week 2: 13/08/2022 — 15:00 Chelsea v Tottenham 13/08/2022 — 15:00 Arsenal v Leicester City Week 3: 20/08/2022 — 15:00 Manchester United v Liverpool 20/08/2022 — 15:00 Newcastle United v Manchester City Week 4: 27/08/2022 — 15:00 Arsenal v Fulham 27/08/2022 — 15:00 Chelsea v Leicester City Week 5: 30/08/2022 — 19:45 Leicester City v Manchester United 30/08/2022 — 19:45 West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur 31/08/2022 — 20:00 Liverpool v Newcastle United Week 6: 03/09/2022 - 15:00 Manchester United v Arsenal
JayMac
Since we have to have the travesty of a late fall World Cup, I like that the PL break ends with the Boxing Day schedule. That just seems right.

Some teams may have as many as 22 games stacked up between 5 August and 11 November. Leagues like the MLS will be wrapping up right at the same time but they won't be trying to cram in three to four different competitions in that same timeframe.
