USA announced to host the 2025 Club World Cup, which will be the first 32 team version.

"Twelve European clubs will feature, including the past three Champions League winners Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Dates for the tournament are yet to be confirmed but it is expected that it will be played in June.

The USA will also co-host the 2026 World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico.

The European Club Association has backed the plans but the World Leagues Forum expressed concern over the "unilateral" decision of football's world governing body to put the new event in the calendar.

The 20th edition of the Club World Cup, which runs from 12-22 December 2023, will be hosted by Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid won the last edition, which was held in Morocco in February. The African country also hosted the event in 2013 and 2014, and it has also been held in Brazil, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar".

Seattle, and either NYCFC or LAFC should be among the other teams as well. Leon or whomever wins the 2024 Champions League will probably be another Concacaf berth. NYCFC was previously mentioned as a  potential team added to the competition.

Al Nassr has been transfer banned already because they haven't paid for a player brought in from Leicester City.

"Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have been banned from signing players until they pay money owed to Leicester City for Ahmed Musa, Fifa has ruled.

Leicester, who sold the Nigeria winger in 2018, have lodged a claim for an outstanding £390,000 payment.

Al Nassr made headlines by signing Cristiano Ronaldo last year.

"The relevant bans will be lifted immediately upon the settlement of the debts being confirmed by the creditors concerned," Fifa said.

Al Nassr added Croatia star Marcelo Brozovic to their squad this summer, and have been linked with a big-money move for Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech".

Chelsea fined $GBP 8.6 million for FFP breaches. Manchester United was find $315,000 for their breaches earlier this month. Juventus has been tossed out of  European competition this year as well. They were actually angling to receive that penalty now, instead of potentially facing a 2 year ban if they got this next season.

Man United extending with adidas for 10 more years, at $115.8 million per year. Not a fan of adidas, but I guess they aren't ready to let Nike, Puma, or even Tommy Hilfiger reportedly.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUPS (2023-2024)

Group A: Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Copenhagen, Galatasaray

Group B: Sevilla, Arsenal, PSV, Lens

Group Napoli, Real Madrid, Braga, Union Berlin

Group Benfica, Inter Milan, RB Salzburg, Real Sociedad

Group E: Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, Lazio, Celtic

Group F: PSG, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Newcastle

Group G: Manchester City, RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys

Group H: Barcelona, Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, Royal Antwerp

Group F is the Group of Death, Group B is the Group of Mild Intrigue. Group A is almost the worst thing Manchester United could have hoped for. I don't see them winning one game against Munich, and the away match at Galatasaray will probably decide if they go through or if they're in Europa League again. All other groups you can probably pick the two to go through already, save for Group D because Real Sociedad could pull out a win they shouldn't get. Group H is a fight for that second slot. There's no way Barcelona shouldn't finish with 6 wins.

Liverpool have played eight games in all competitions so far this season, in five of them, including each of the last four, they've given up the first goal only to come back and win 3-1

Turns out the VAR who should've overturned that decision was jet-lagged from moonlighting with the UAE league or something like 48 hours earlier. Not great! The whole VAR concept needs a total overhaul or scrap at this point, it's only caused as many problems as it's solved.

They should only be reffing in one league at a time! These guys have been crap all year. If you're working back to back games on the same day, that's not a good look and it brings the game into disrepute. I'm a United fan and so I should be happy Liverpool lost, but to lose on something like this is just abysmal. We also had a penalty appeal not given when Romero from Spurs had his arms out wide and got hit in the elbow. Is Spurs this year's Leister City?
